Nothing unlegitimate about that. If they were qualifying your CEO based on this criteria (as many trade magazines do) and the answer was no, then they were not allowed to continue the call. I work for a trade publishing company and Aspen is a legitimate call agency.
Just responding to the first post here. :)Aspen is a legitimate call center/market research firm. This is REALLY what they do. I work for a trade publisher and have worked with Aspen. We make calls to numbers provided by subscribers for use in subscription maintenance. We follow all the laws and rules, as does Aspen. I DO NOT work for Aspen but I have done a lot of professional research on them (as part of my job) and they really are on the up and up.Telemarketing can be annoying, but the mere fact of receiving a call doesn't mean that the firm calling you is breaking a law.You are right that once you ask to be removed/opted out/unsubscribed/etc., this request must/should be honored. Some companies though use receptionist/front desk numbers and these numbers can be on for multiple employees in the same building. So it can get a little nuts for the person answering the phone. How *we* address it is by trying to stagger calls to a single office over a number of days or weeks. Telemarketing *is* annoying to many people, but in our business, many of our subscribers PREFER it (meaning they respond to it well). If you don't like what you are hearing, complain to the source (the magazine doing the calling, etc.), where you are most likely to get a response. TFR
This caller wanted to know if i would answer a few questions and if i didn't qualify i would have to pay 100.00 sounds like a scam to me don't send anything to these people plus when i said i didn't want to participate he wouldn't take no for an answer
I called Aspen media 303-786-9500 and pressed #1 and #1 again to leave a voice mail. I left a message asking to them to remove our number from their calling list. Also, left a message for VP Matt on his cell phone 303-381-8483 asking him to ensure the number is removed from their calling list. My number is on the do-not-call-list but is also used as a home office number on my business website.
Called a total of 4 times yesterday. On the third time, I finally answered. They were looking for my husband, who was unavailable, for some sort of "survey". They were extremely pesky and rude, wanting to know an exact time that he could be reached. I told them that he would NOT be interested in doing any of their surveys (they sell ALL of the information that you give them!) and to PLEASE take our number OFF their damn list and QUIT calling. The person on the other end then became VERY rude, telling me that just because I was not interested does not mean that my husband wouldn't be and that they WILL continue to call. Ugh! I'm currently in the process of sending them a certified letter with return receipt to their place of Business - 5505 Central Ave, Boulder, CO 80301-3089 ordering them to cease and desist with the calls IMMEDIATELY, otherwise I'll be more than happy to see them face to face in front of a Judge, beginning with small claims court. Don't laugh - I've done this before! Hoping they'll continue to call after that - it's a rather EASY judgment! Anyone else like to join?
