Got calls saying i was going to lose my computer lic. because it has been hacked and i should let them run a diagnostic on My computer. Stupid me i started to let them and then i stopped but not before the hooked up with my computer 1-304 743 8823
Got a call from them this morning too...... telling me something is wrong with my computer.. Blaba
Got the same call today from some Indian person telling me something was wrong with my windows computer. When I asked which one, he just said your windows computer. Then I asked for his name, the name for the person he wished to speak to or an address, he didn't want to answer my questions. Well I don't have a windows computer. So I guess the jokes on them. Caller id said Kenneth brown. When I called back I got a message saying this number is no longer in service. Geesh how annoying.
Anyone stupid enough to give them access deserves whatever they get and shouldn't have a computer to begin with.
After receiving 15 calls from this number (and not answering them) over the past 2 weeks I finally became weary of the BS and when the call came in at 9:35 AM I answered. I simply said, "FBI offices. To what extension may I transfer your call?" Caller hung up. Lol. Gosh...I wonder why?!?!?!
Scammer -------"Microsoft reports errors from your Windows computer"Same bunch responsible for HOSTAGE and RANSOM ware. These guys have no shame/souls.
I too received a call from 304-743-8823 several times. Always let it ring 4 to 5 times and hang up. No message. After checking about all the numerous numbers they call under, I have just left it alone. But then, I never answer a call from a number I do not recognize. But shortly after getting the last call three weeks ago from the Maryland number, I got the message on my computer that I had problems with a bad infected file and most likely had damaging malware on computer and to please call the following number immediately for instant help to prevent damage to my computer and my personal information including banking information. This was like a IM message but different too and since the speakers were on, was a female voice. I promptly took my desktop to Best Buy to make certain that I did not have a problem and no I did not. But I was told this message I got was the same as those pesky phone calls everyone seems to get. The Geek Squad agent that I dealt with had been told that our names and phone numbers were most likely being sold by credit card companies. Which makes me sick as the Best Buy credit card is now managed by CitiGroup and that is where I have several credit cards. Why do credit card companies have to make extra money by selling our information to lists that then fall into "crooks" hands. Wish there was some way to stop this once and for all but seems they can stay one step ahead of any law inforcement agency that looks into this.
I just got a call from "Brown Kenneth D" from Milton, WV (or so it said). I did not answer. No message was left. In the last several weeks, I've had at least a dozen "I'm calling from Windows" or "I'm calling from Mac" calls to tell me that my computer was being hacked right now .... the funny part is that I was not even home a single time, and my PC was turned off every time.
