call came from 310 6231728 but it was probably the same gang. Guy invited me to a free weekend seminar in Vegas on May 7, 2010. I refused and he suggested a later date tbd. The seminar was about "energy".How do I know this isn't a scam? Everything else is.

What ever you do. Do not invest with these guys. I made the mistake of investing with them and am having a hard time getting my money back. Huge mistake. My loss and bad exprience with Leland Energy should be your gain

I am currently involved in an Oil and Gas program. These guys started sending revenue checks then stopped I have been calling them, but I am about to get the SEC involved. I have a lot of money tied up with this company. What ever you do. Do not send them one dime Leland Energy and the CEO Steve Thompson are scam artist

My name is Steve Thompson and I am the President of Leland Energy. We have been in business for over 30 years. We have had successful programs and some not so successful. And, after these last 18 months of current economic chaos, we have indeed had challenges in achieving some of our goals. Difficult field conditions have also hindered our ability to live up to our expectations. Having said all this, we did not abandon our partners or file chapter 11 to negate or otherwise look to avoid our commitments and obligations. Even with these hurdles, we are committed to moving ahead to get the job done. I can only represent the following: First, we have great assets in the ground that are just now coming to fruition; second, even though the economic conditions are a death knell for most small companies, we have managed to keep moving forward, third, we are just now about to get some re-financing and operational support after almost 12 months of literally non-existent credit facilities, and fourth, though some may question our judgments and we may make errors, we do not lie to anyone. To my knowledge, we do not know the identity of the individuals posting the negative comments on this site and therefore cannot address the specifics of their claims. Anyone interested in seeing their investments work out should be more interested in seeing the company be as trouble-free as it can be, so that it CAN achieve utmost productivity in the areas needed and move forward. Things do not always work out the way they are planned, but that does NOT mean they cannot or do not work. While BIG companies ("To big to fail") have been either bailed out or have GONE OUT OF BUSINESS, Leland has been and will continue to service our partners. There will be NO further response to comments as I feel that a continuous dialog in this fashion with anonymous individuals would be counterproductive. Anyone interested in solutions may contact me directly. My number here is 310-360-4130. Thanks for your time. S.M. Thompson.

Interesting, no safe harbor disclaimers, unsubstantiated claims. You don't have a clue about investment regulation do you? Do you even have a lawyer, or is that one of the areas where you cut costs LOLThe SEC will be very interested in this propaganda, I'm sure!

Just got a similar call from a very nice sounding guy describing the "May 7th meeting in Las Vegas".When I told him we would love to go if they would cover our air fare from Hawaii and accomodations andother expenses in Las Vegas -- and he agreed that this was certainly possible - I knew we had avery unlikely (to say the least) legitimate situation. Thanks for the information which I resourced while he was still on the phone.

Got my name wrong, no where near close to the person they're trying to scam/contact. Call came from North Texas, left no company name, nothing. Shady asf, 888 area code is commonly used by scammers so this may not be legit.
