The number called about a political poll with a bunch of additional questions about religion, income, etc. Offered me $5 to take the survey and stated that the check would arrive from Pew Research Center. I am familiar with Pew as a polling company and they are legit. Not sure if it was actually them, so I declined to answer a few questions, like 2015 income. There was no information asked about me except first name, which I lied on. The offer at the end was to send me a $5 check if I gave them a name and address. I declined. Likely, this is a "work from home" associate hired by Pew and was previously hired by other research groups.
Really strange. Most of these reports on this phone number are past years!!!! I received a call on 5/19/2016 (on my cell phone) from this phone number. I see 800 notes has it listed as Chicago. A message was left on my phone stating a name of James Brier (couldn't make out last name) & he was calling from the Delaware Div. of Public Health. It is a survey about health issues in Delaware. Gave a phone # to call if we have questions---877-551-6318---will research that # as well. By the way, he said he will call back!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice.
It was a state survey for the division of public health. I got one call that didn't leave a message, and then looked up the number. Saw here it was most likely a survey so the next time it called I answered and decided to participate in the survey. Took 20 minutes max. I don't mind participating in surveys - costs more tax dollars to mail surveys, I would imagine.Questions were about general health, sex health, just a bunch of general questions. I was allowed to not give an answer to any of the questions but I didn't find any of the questions invasive. I truly believe it was a survey about public health - it wasn't a phising call or anything like that.Don't know how they got my number and that worries me. I didn't mind doing the survey but I really do wish to know how my number ended up in a pool of "randomly selected" people.
