CID read “ IPSOS”. No message left. I don’t answer calls I don’t recognize. As others have noted, 30 pages of reports? Most I’v seen here. Number now blocked. They’ll just use another number, which I’ll block also.
They've called once a day for the past 3 days. Number has been blocked - IPOS is a global survey company.
No message. "IPSOS" (a global market research and a consulting firm) on caller ID about 8pm on a weekday. I blocked it and taught my answering machine to say: "Hello" ... "Hello" ... "I'm out, so leave a message." I have a feeling they quickly handed my answering machine off to talk to a "real person" thinking they have some sucker on my end saying "Hello?, ... Hello?". ha ha.
Bob,Why would a BCBS do a survey for a member in Florida when they are based in Chicago? Something rotten in Denmark. A retired BCBS employee. I say this is a crock!!!
I did not answer, but called them back. A recording identified them as a global research company, and said more info was available at www.ipsos.com, which verified who they are.
My caller ID showed an Unknown number with no message left. Therefore, that = telemarketers and or scammers. Most of these are "robo calls with spoofed numbers," so reporting them to the DNC List does no good. Be warned, many of them are now using your local area codes and change the main number frequently. NEVER give or verify personal, credit card, bank or financial information to ANYONE who makes an unsolicited call to you!!! I "block" these numbers if they keep calling. I also "Blacklist" any supposed charity that uses telemarketers or calls me because so many of the calls are just frauds. I recently resorted to turning off the ringer on on my phones so they can't annoy me anymore.
Just got the call from this number and it said that they were conducting a financial survey. Answered because I had my bluetooth on and was expecting a call and not looking at my phone. Normally would not have answered. The female was asking about financial practices. This was totally unrelated to the other posts. So, thought I should post this. I wish these types of calls would stop!
The reason your phone company "can't block the way you want them to block is that they are making tons of money on calls like this, in some cases the phone company is a minor partner in some of these scams. Especially when the party that is calling you can bill you through your home phone bill. Now if you did or could throw the kind of money the phone company is making from these scam at your communications utility they would be happy to block anything you want. Got a few extra million kicking around to convince the phone company to behave the way they should every day, well that is if they were an honest business.
