THEN WHY WHEN I TRY TO CALL BACK IT SAYS THIS NUMBER HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. AND IT HAS CALLED ME THREE TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. AND IT HANGS UP BEFORE I CAN ANSWER IT.
This call is coming from Matthew J McClure of St Louis, MO, 8777 Brentwood Pl, 63144
SCAM! Told me my subscription to my local newspaper had expired. He needed my credit card number or bank account info to renew my subscription so I would not miss any more papers. After hanging up, I called my newspaper immediately and was told my subscription was good for another 3 months! Be very careful about these types of phone calls. Scammers are getting a little better "fine tuned" with how to make their scam believable.
I keep getting calls from this number day and night, every day. How do I get them to stop?
THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. I CALLED 314-963-8895. IT ALWAYS STATES THE MAILBOX IS FULL. SO I CALLED 314-845-2825. I GOT A NICE PERSON THAT STATED THEY WOULD TAKE MY NUMBER OFF THE LIST IN 24 HOURS. I ADVISED SINCE I WAS ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST FOR THE LAST YEAR I REFUSED TO GET ONE MORE CALL FROM THEM. ADVISED I WOULD REPORT THEM. AS YOU STATED THE THREAT OF FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY IS A JOKE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY DO ANYTHING AT ALL TO THESE PEOPLE. THE MAJORITY OF BUSINESSES FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES BUT THEIR ARE ALWAYS OTHERS. IF WE ALL START FLOODING THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY AND THE THE BBB WE MIGHT GET THESE FEW COMPANIES TO STOP CALLING. I HAVE NOT HAD A NEW PAPTER DELIVERED TO MY HOME IN ALMOST 10 YEARS. THE PHONE NUMBER HAS ALSO CHANGED SINCE THEN. SO THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT TELLING THE TRUTH AND YES THEY ARE SELLING IT TO ANOTHER COMPANY. PLEASE FILE...PLEASE FILE MAYBE WE CAN GET SOMETHING DONE.
Been receiving calls from these obnoxious idiots for years & the amazing thing is about them is they try to sell newspaper subscriptions but not neccessarily the correct newspaper! I called my newspaper to verify their association with these bozos, The Dallas Morning News has never had any association with Pisa, Sub Serv or NCO Group! These same groups were calling me years ago while living in other states also & trying to sell subscriptions to newspapers located in towns/cities and states that I did not even live nowhere near to! As an example, Why would anyone living in Little Rock, Arkansas want to receive a newspaper from Pennsylvania? Consumers blame the government, but it isn't our government! Our government officials can & will protect us but we have to make these things known to them before they can begin to do anything! Have to begin with local representatives such as city, county & state then contact federal representatives in Washington DC!
People claiming to call the other number to be "removed" from the calling list are either stupid or lying. Stupid because they're bragging about the fact that they're being scammed.Or they're lying to make others feel better about calling the company. High-five!C Smith is right. Don't call them. Report these people to the FCC. What do you have to lose by reporting them? Worst case scenario, this is a legitimate company. Then they should have no problem explaining their actions to the FCC.
I told them to take my number off the list. The woman asked me to "hold please". Told her I am not going to hold. Just take my number off their list, do not call again or I will report for harassment.
