CITY TELL COIN IS A PHONE SERVICE NOT A PRISON. THEY CHARGE VERY HIGH FEES TO TALK FOR 15 MINUTES TO SOMEONE WHO IS LOCKED UP IN A PRISON IN THE SOUTH, HERE IN INDIANA THE COST IS 6.50 FOR 15 MINS AND IT GOES DIRECTLY ON YOU PHONE BILL. I PAID 23.00 TO CITY TELE COIN FOR A 15 MIN CALL AND I WILL NOT USE THIER SERVICE AGAIN. RIGHT NOW I'M LOOKING FOR AN E-MAIL ADDRESS SO I CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT ALL THE AUTOMATED CALLS I KEEP GETTING ON MY CELL PHONE.
there is an inmate that repeatedly calls my home phone at all hours. the message says he is in the Rapides Parish jail. how can iI block these calls?
First..ask yourself, do I know anyone who could suddenly be in jail or prison? Second..try to contact the people who pop into the front of your mind. Don't assume! Chances are good that you are being targeted randomly for some sneaky lil criminal's personal phoning account, and if you take a moment to think and check first, you may avoid being taken for a ride. These people are smart, they know EVERYONE knows SOMEONE that could've gotten in trouble and might possibly call from jail, they're "banking" on your generousity. On the other hand..if that crazy uncle or whatever is suddenly harder to get ahold of....well..you decide the risk you're willing to take there.
Go to their website and it tells you how to block your number. Just because the call says its from LA does not mean that is where it is coming from. It could be a loved one who got locked up and is calling to tell you so. It could be scams as well... but for me it was a friend who go picked up.
The name of the inmate is given before you are asked to accept the call or add money to the account.
Obviously you were for these sorry scam artists. I don't know how anyone can rip people off like this and sleep at night. Evil
I am sick and tired of getting these calls how can they get blocked I even got a call at 3:30 am I am not a happy camper

I called the Chase number on the back of my card and they said they had NOT called me, said it was scammers. I had two calls on my machine asking me to call them back.
