Yes they are a scam, they use a spoofed caller ID number. I answered the phone and explained to them I was a city police detective and gave thema badge number. Then they went off on a tirade, when I told them that I wanted to talk to a supervisor the put me on hold and another woman came on the line asking me how she could help, I told her, she couldn't I was just in the process of tracing the call they quickly hung up. This is a widely known scam. Do not give any information if you want to keep your money or your ID.
By George...this is exactly what I am going to do! Good idea about laying the phone down - however...as I sit here, I think next time, I will have some fun with them! I will talk their "F-ing" ear off! LOL and cost them a little money

The person who is calling from the number 391-304-9999 needs to stop. Lately, I have been getting calls from Florida ... I don't know anyone in Florida ... I am tired of harassment ... is there something we can do to stop those annoying harassing calls? Can we get them legally? Can they be sued and sanctioned?
I just got a call and asked to be removed from list. They foreign man called me a "motherf-----" and said the Do Not Call list was bullsh--" These lowlifes called from Orlando where alot of creditcard terrorists live. I have reported it to the FTC, FCC and my AG. Please do the same as there is safety in numbers.ALSO, IF YOU DO TALK TO A LIVE "HUMAN" TELL THEM YOUR PHONE AUTOMATICALLY RECORDS ALL CALLS FOR "QUALITY PURPOSES". SEE HOW FAST THEY HANG UP!!
Received several calls from this number, shows up as a cell phone from FL. Have reported it repeatedly.
I ONLY HAD TO DO THIS ONCE! AFTER GET SEVERAL AND CONSISTENT PHONE CALLS I GOT OUT A METAL SPORTS WHISTLE AND LAID IT BY THE PHONE. AS SOON AS I REALIZED WHAT THE CALL WAS ABOUT I PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND GAVE THEM 2 BLASTS OF THE WHISTLE. I PICKED THE PHONE UP AND THE OPERATOR SAID IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A CALL ETC. CAUTION--------DO NOT HAVE THE PHONE NEAR YOUR EAR I'VE BEEN TOLD IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD.!!!!!!!!!! THESE PEOPLE KEEP IT UP--THEY WILL GET CAUGHT. MAYBE BY A TIN WHISTLE??
