ESM has been calling my house for days....I received a call from them tonight at 8:47 PM and as usual I did not answer. They are really getting on my nerves. Can anyone tell me WHO they may represent in Charleston, SC? I saw mention of Comcast on other posts. I just e-mailed Comcast and told them that if they employ ESM, they'd better STOP them from calling my house or I will cancel my Comcast service. This is ridiculous. The next time they call here, I am going to engage them in a very long conversation about the weather, politics, etc. until they are bored to tears. Then I may blow an air horn into the phone or scream like a banshee.
We care for handicapped children. They think when the phone rings, it is for one of them. This company calls almost 8 times a day and never leaves a message. We are constantly running to the phone only to have it be this number again. It is a great deal of explaining to the children. can SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP????Thank you.
I finally answered the phone after ignoring these calls for months. They identify themselves as Evergreen Sales and Marketing calling on behalf of COMCAST. They wanted to sign me up for the Triple Play. So, based on all the entries above, it sounds like this is a generic tele-marketing company that many other companies use to sell you their services. For me it just happened to be Comcast. I say answer the phone, tell them you don't want the product and to stop calling you and they should. Simple as that.
If you have expressed an interest in doing business with a company and provided your number, even if you are on the DNCR, that company can contact you for up to 90 days for whatever purpose. If you have actually DONE business with them, the period can be up to 18 months (depending on your state). However, once you tell them to stop calling, they are required BY LAW to stop. ESM may be performing a service for such a business. Even worse, calls collecting for charities are exempt from the federal DNCR. It's still terribly annoying.
We have received numerous calls on our caller id from a company identified as ESM both day and night. When you pick up the phone there is never anyone at the other end of the line. The caller does not seem to ever leave a message and appears to act like it is "stalking" your residence to see what hours that someone answers the phone and what hours the phone goes unanswered.
I decided to call the company and see what their response might be. A pre-recorded message identifies them as Evergreen Sales and Marketing. A reverse telephone number lookup identified them as being located in northern Florida. The ESM message indicated that they were calling on behalf of the local cable tv company. The first option was to elect to be added to the company's DO NOT CALL LIST that would only be applied to their customer's list and not to any state or national register. I submitted my number (hey, they already called it anyway) and will see if the calls actually stop.
