This number has called us numerous times after I called them and submitted our number on their do not call list. They hang up when I answer, but then call right back. If the answering machine picks up they speak greet in Spanish and then hang up and call again. In the last three days they've called about 8 times, including a call at 8:30 am on a Saturday!
We received a call at 7:06 pm PDT on Monday, May 7, 2007. It came up ESM. We have an unpublished phone #. I "googled" the number and it led me here. The phone # was 386-538-7500. They did not leave a message. I have reported this to our attorney.
I too have been getting calls from this number I haven't answered because I didn't recognize the number. I am on the Do Not Call Registry as well I will be reporting
i got 2 calls from them right in a row on my cell phone... didnt answer... they didnt leave a message
This person has called me severl times during hte past month, never left a message, and did not answer when i tried to call back.
My wife picked up a call from 386-538-7500 as "ESM". The person on the line said they were calling from Comcast with an offer of two free digital converters for a year. They didn't ask for any information about our Comcast account. She asked them a bunch of questions like:"what happens when the year is up?" - "Rental fee becomes $7.99/month""what fees are involved?" - "No fees/charges/etc"etc.The deal sounded reasonable so she said we'd take one extra box. The rep said he'd have someone call back to set up the deal. That really made me a bit suspicious. Why do they have to call back, etc? We soon received a couple of calls from a different number, 386-267-3421, with the caller-id "Evergreen Sales". Before answering the call back, I called Comcast and asked if the call was on the up-and-up. The Comcast rep checked with someone and said that the call was legitimate and that they do have a subcontractor named Evergreen Sales. While waiting for the next call back, I googled the number and found this site. When I did answer, the rep said they were calling from Comcast to "tape and confirm" our order. I told them we weren't interested and requested that they put us on their do-not-call list. The rep was polite and said that she hoped that the calls weren't too much of a nuisance. She also said that putting us on the list would take 30 days to take effect. Fortunately, our Comcast digital voice package includes blacklisting so if they call back, I'll add their number. It's quite possible that the deal was legitimate. The catch is that normally, a second converter box is only $4.99/month. They're hoping you'll forget to return it or whatever and end up paying the higher rate from then on. However, even though I'm sure I'd remember to return it, I don't want to support the telemarketing industry.I also wonder if the "Channel 37" question referred to in a number of other posts is part of a trick to catch people who are getting free cable.I highly recommend that if anyone uses the email address on the Evergreen Sales & Marketing website to get on the do-not-call list that they use a throwaway email address. This is certainly the type of company that will take your address and sell it for all it's worth on the SPAM market.
