They just called today 2/25/16 and knew my business name and asked me to confirm our mailing address.
Received a call from this number today. The guy didn't introduce himself and just wanted to confirm my business address and if I am the owner and how many employees I have. When I questioned him who and where is he calling from the guy just hangs up. This number is getting blocked immediately!!
They just call the office and want to talk to owner or manager, and said they are chambers of commerce of America want to update information of our company, and know the owners name, ask her to fax or email a proof if she is legit from Chambers of Commerce, she hangs up the phone then and said Thank you!
Have called our fitness studio twice today. No reply after our greeting so we've just hung up on them. Caller ID comes up as Bellevue NE.
Claims to be the Chamber of Commerce; asked to confirm business address, which I did. Then proceeded to ask if a particular person was still the manager, to which I replied 'no'. When they asked for the new branch manager's name, I insisted they needed to send an email request for me to release this information (although not true). They then hung up! Of course, because they are not who they say they are.
Got a strange call from a "local number" a spoof number obviously. It was 707-886-8069. It was a man stating he was from the Chamber of Commerce and wanted to know if I had 2 employees. I told him no, that only my wife and I work at our business. I then asked who the person really was and they hung up. I did a reverse cell phone lookup and found the number to be registered in Annapolis, Calif. Basically out in the boonies so it definitely was not the Chamber of Commerce. Scammers!!
got a call just now as "Out of Area", a guy said "hello?" twice and hung up. blocked immediately.
I answered the phone at our office and before I could finish the greeting the obviously computer-generated voice said Hello? Oh, I think I have the wrong number. I'm sorry." There was a very long pause before it disconnected. Thanks for the info here.
