I answered the phone with "hello?" and then the line started ringing as tho I was making a phone call, so I hung up quick.
It is very annoying, they called without saying anything then hung up. Everytime I have received this kind of call, it is really make a bad day to me.
We received the same call this morning!I told them to take me off there telephone listing!(8:26 a.m.)
This number started calling us about a week or two ago. Our standard practice is to simply put them on hold and forget about them as there seems to be no way to truly have a number placed on the DNC list. At least this way it costs them time (and hopefully money). The more it costs them the less likely it will be they stay in business.Once a week I have coffee with a number of other business owners in the area and each I have spoken with reports getting the calls. Everybody is aware of the problem but there seems to be nothing that can be done to stop the calls.
phone rang. when I picked up I could hear it ring at the other end. when the loser picked up and began asking questions I told him it was illegal for them to call with a robo-dialer. he pretended not to know what that is and tried asking more questions, so I broke in and asked him who he was and what he wanted. when he started his spiel again I told him I read about their scam to get you to agree and then bill you for some fake placement. I told him I would not give him any information. dude hung up on me. GOOD!!
I have to work my a&& off to make money, yet these calls interupt me on a daily basis. How do they possibly make money?
Worked for a year- just got a call again and the guy tried to get me to verify our address. These guys are such scammers! No means no your criminal jerks!!!
These call lists (databases) are like currency to scammers and phishers. Most simply seek to "verify" your information to keep their "product" up to date and worthy of selling to telemarketing firms. They can enact laws against spamming on the internet yet they refuse to keep telemarketers on a short leash. It's pathetic.
You can bet that the information they are seeking to verify will be on a "database" (call list) they will be selling to telemarketing firms. Best advice is to avoid answering numbers you do not recognize but most definitely put a call block on them once you know who/what they are.
