Got the call today, didn't give him achance.People, don't you know that caller ID can be spoofed? The call could be from anywhere and still display the real Paypal number.

Anyone know SANTOS ALERTOS, COULD BE A FAKE NAME THAT IS THE NAME PAY PAL LINKED TO MY SKYPE CHARGES.rEPORT 1-888 221 1161 tO PAY PAL SECURITY

I did not receive a call from this (402) 935-7733, but was recently hit with 5 unauthorized charges with my PayPal account. One was actually for a purchase through Ebay and the other 4 were cash transfers from my bank account through PayPal to someone else. A $500 mastercard transaction came through my bank as JOSEBROOKLY 4029357733. Realizing this was probably a phone number, I did a reverse search and came to this website. Still fighting with PayPal and my bank to get the remaining transactions reversed, as well as all the NSF fees that hit my account. A big pain that no one seems to want to help you on. PayPal flagged these transactions, but they still hit my bank account for almost $1700 and no one wants to take the blame. I don't recall receiving any suspecious emails from PayPal, so not sure how they hacked into my account. Needless to say when I get all my money back, I won't be using PayPal anymore. They're not as secure as you think. Beware everyone!

I just found an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank for a couple of $ and found out it was supposed to be Pay Pal. I have never had an account but a child I have custody of used it once and now I am being scamed. I will get a refund if possible and alert police.

PayPal confirming my identity after I forgot my password. However, I still block it then disable this app if I'm expecting a call. Too many telemarketers/scammers spoof numbers.

Seems to be quite a few non-thinking types on here. So I just saw this number on my bank statement so I checked with my wife (after a quick online search which found this list of hilarity) and sure enough she recognized the transaction. So the number is a legit PayPal number. HOWEVER, if you have no recent transactions related to PayPal and if you see this number on Caller ID, and the person at the other end is asking you to reveal personal info, the CALL is a scam. The NUMBER is still a valid PayPal number. Same goes for a transaction on your bank statement....if it doesn't match any recent transactions you've made, and YOU CHECK WITH PAYPAL and they don't recognize the transaction, then the TRANSACTION is fraudulent but the NUMBER is still a valid number belonging to Paypal. Get it? Good. A whole lot of you need to stop reacting so quickly and posting misinformation on the interwebs.

theres a charge on credit card from this number also i got some of my money back form my bank i only shopped thruogh ebay twice and once was iwth a gift card and then the one and only time iused my credit card they got me

Received 2 emails from Paypal in Chinese (which I can't read). Logged onto Paypal account and noticed $150 dollars transferred to an unknown person from my bank account. Immediately after seeing this I received a phone call from this number which I didn't answer. Sent investigation inquiry to Paypal.

This number was on our bank statement. For us, it's a legit charge and it's monthly. It's for our business website to have a Paypal account. It allows us to accept payments through Paypal.
