Different businesses hire the Gallop Poll to ask questions on their behalf. My daughter lives in Canada and had that job to support her two children. She had to call places in the U.S. The people were shocked to find out she lived in another country yet was asking about their last bank visit. Most were nice to her but it was a very hard job. Of course, like any job there are going to be rude people. I usually don't answer any number I don't recognize. When I do I say time is money so I won't waste yours because I don't have any money! And I hang up.

My husband answered, the caller asked for me by my full name (maiden name + married name)which no one but my husband and myself know me by so he told the caller he had the wrong number.

I am also plagued with these annoying calls but have discovered another option to keep them from calling my house and/or my cell phone (I use call forwarding). Simply insert these numbers into your "call blocking." Have a special ring for all calls blocked! Done! You know by the ring it is someone you don't want calling and eventually most of these calls will stop. Telephone numbers are public anywhere you want to find them. Use your call blocking.

If that was true we wouldn't be having repeated calls after asking to be removed.

Why should anyone answer calls from an unknown number. As another poster stated, the phone is for my use and convenience not for you to contact me.

They've called 3 times in the past week. I never answered but they never leave messages either.
