Yes, they make money selling your number. It's part of your agreement with the provider so you can't block them.

Just got this call 2 min ago, I know ppl in Calgary so i was tempted to answer but didn't, anyone I know would be in my cell phone address book anyways. Never left a msg, didn't attempt to call it back looked up the phone number on pipl.I'm getting tired of these stupid phone calls!!!!!

I just got this call on my Virgin cell phone 4:44 p.m. (EST) in Toronto. Didn't recognize the number, so I didn't pick up. They didn't leave a message. I just checked on-line to see if anyone else received these annoying calls and it looks like a lot of you have unfortunately.

I just turned on my phone and saw that I had a missed call from this number at 02:17am. There was no voice message or anything. I came onto the net to see who the number belonged to and I got this site. I hate how our cell phones and susceptible to these junk calls all the time. WHO on earth has the right to place a scamming call at 02:17am. I have received ones before about credit cards and car insurance on my phone. Cell phones should have some type of protection against telemarketing and other scams!!! It is annoying. They are using up our phone time that WE have to pay for!!!!!
