This p#404-921-2521 is for Portfolio Associates. They buy out accounts, like credit card accounts that are unpaid/uncollected.

These bottom feeders began calling in 2009. At that time, I had not owned a credit card in 12 years! They sent an unsigned solicitation giving an accnount number, but nothing to verify the debt was minem, nor that they owened it. I had never done business with them, nor had received any goods or services from them, nor had I ever entered into any agreement or relationship with them. They were claiming a debt of nearly $5000, though I had never owed even half that much on any credit card I had ever owned. THey have called fronm nearly 40 numbers since then. No one has ever answered the phone, and on one ever will. I contacted the state Attorney General's consumer protection office after about a year, and --Prest! - Portfolio Recovery began using their name in the caller ID ever since, with one exception. After the atty genl talked with them, these vermin issued a 1099-C to the IRs. Some pathetic lawyer named Brian Pearson at PRA was finally forced to actually communicate with me, by the atty. general office. He said they issued the 1099-c because they had decided to "cease" attempts to collect the "debt" which has never been verified to exist. (He had to admit all they have is a line on a printout, no documents to verify the debt is mine). Sine they decided to "cease" collection in September 2010, they have called 87 times, from many brand new numbers! They lied to the atty general that there were two "accounts." If there are, they never claimed that by mail, as the law requires them to do. They are brazen bottom feeders, and if your government was at all interested in the welfare of individual citizens, these pond scum would not be operating, but since finance and Wall Street are all that "your" representatives serve, they continue.
I got a call from these people (404) 921-2521! I told them I didn't know the person they were looking for and they had the wrong number. They said they would take this number off the list! Hopefully it works!!!
Thanks for the help everyone I've discovered through you guys it is indeed Portfolio Recovery...they're so annoying.Signed: I'm Not Paying Until I'm Ready...Take off all of those ridiculous fees!
sue them, call your state attorney general , or those sights you see here, where it says Mad at NCO, they are a consumer group and you get a 1000 dollars , keep all records of calls, they have been calling me for over 3 years about a 250 dollar credit card bill from 1997, they are scum bags, and what they are doing is illegal , it is also illegal for them to call your cell phone doing this, and also illegal they will not identify theirselves and why they are calling. My paper work has been filed at the county court house already
Okay, so now you have three reasons to sue PRA for yanking your chain. You can use an extra grand, right?
got a call from this company on june 16 and of course its portfolio recovery the debt collection company that dont give up. atleast they have so many people that complain about them you would think they would get in trouble atleast for what they do to us. the people that claim they get your info after you change you phone number how is that possible? have you ever changed your phone number and had some one call you again? sorry to all the people who have to deal with these people who got nothing else to do with their time than bother people. but my debt was charged off and you dont go after people after that happens i thought.
