No need to re-hash the above. I am seeing this number every day now. About 3 weeks ago I answered, actually spoke to someone, and at that time asked to be removed from the list. Since that time they now call 1-2 times per day. I find every time they call on my caller ID and report it on the Do Not Call List website. Last week I even tried calling back and leaving a message on their voicemail to remove my number. That doesn't work. I finally scrolled back and earlier comments suggest calling Kenneth Whitaker, President of Public Interest Communications at 703-847-8300 extension 311. We will see if this works.
Fortunately, my phone carrier provides call blocking through its website. I added this number to my block list.
They have been calling twice or more a day for weeks. I have asked NUMEROUS times to take me off their list and they keep calling
Had a hang-up, no message left on voice mail, at 1:54pm on 7/23. Today at 1:30 pm. I was home & answered the phone, but nobody came on the line. From looking at the client list, if I were paranoid, I might think some Reich-wingers were Trying to irritate progressive donors enough to stop supporting these charities!
I started getting a call from this number three days ago. I would not advise entering your information on their website. The equation time=$ applies to all and I think they'll give up soon enough.
OK - these guys call you on behalf of a number of companies, the most likely current call round are if you have ever contributed to the World Wildlife Fund. I suggest you call the WWF directly if this applies to you - you can reach the WWF on 1-800-960-0993. Ask them why they passed your details to Public Interest company and that a) you are not happy and b) the need to get them to stop calling or your funding will be drying up and they will on your behalf remove you from the calling list. I told them that they really kicked themselves in the shins over this one - I've donated to them in the past, but I think this will be the last time. Everyday for weeks now. I never answer when I see the caller ID but someone has got to get a grip!
Hilarious - just read PIC's homepage . . .If you are looking for a company to "talk at" your supporters or "churn-and-burn" through your donor file, you will find many options in the phone book under "Telemarketing." (a.k.a. PIC!! - I added this bit!)But if you place a premium on genuine communication and bottom line results, if you want to start a beautiful relationship with Telefundraising Professionals, there is only one number to call: 703-847-8300.
I've had the same problems with this "company". Calls from them every night for the last 3 weeks at least. Scum bags for sure, and I will get off their list, one way or another, but PLEASE everybody, don't blame good charities for this. I'm sure if WWF knew about this they would not allow this company to raise money for them. I never give money to companies that get paid to raise money because I know only a fraction of my donation will get to the charity I want it to go to.I will contact all of the charities that I give to and figure out why this is happening. I am also going to forward a link to this website so they can see what is happening. I'm positive that is NOT how they want their donors treated.
