I just called the Toronto Star (416-367-4500) and asked them to get me off their call centre's list. Otherwise I will cancel my subscription on the next call. We will see if that worked. Very annoying.
Because you have business dealings with them they can call all they want.As long as you subscribe they can legally call. I know it is BS but that is the law ...
My mother-in-law has the best payback ever. When telemarketers call she says she's in the middle of making breakfast/lunch/dinner and to hold on. She then lays the phone down and walks away. They always hang up, even automated calls. Haven't seen it fail yet. Kudos Peg!

Called several times. When I pick up no one says anything so I just hang up. Being on the 'no-call list' is useless.
I called this number back and for the first time it went to a voice mail system. Newspaper Call Centre or Newpaper Collection Centre, either way just ignore.Rule of thumb if it is important they would leave a message.
This number calls daily on a scheduled time to our office. When I answer, no one is there. I recall this number use to call selling services. Now, they call and the line is silent.
I received a call today form them, NCC inc showed up. I was going to hang up as I usually do, however a very nice (ENGLISH speaking) girl identified herself right away and said they were offering a supplemental NY Times Sunday edition for an incremental $1.05 tax incl. with the Sunday Delivery f my Toronto Star. As much as I hate soliciting phone calls - this was a very good deal, as the NY Times is upwards of $7.50 - and enjoy my Sunday newspapers. I didn't have to give any information, and I could cancel through the Toronto Star at any time. I really don't think this is a scam, but I'll see on my next Delivery Bill.

The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.

Unsolicited call. Wanted me to complete my "voter profile." I've voted from this address for over 20 years.
It happened to me they got into my computer and got all bank info they took over $4000. from me left me with nothing. Don't trust anyone this was a setup.
