I've gotten two calls from them on my cell phone, consecutive days. They are Festiva Resorts in Branson, MO. Http://www.festivaresorts.com. It's more than likely some time share crap.
I know what type of [***] this is and in order to get what they say you have to perticiapate in time shares and pay for one thing to get something else. they will never leave you alone until you give in. tell them no over and over again but they do not understand that word for some reason, the word must not be in there Dictionary.
It truly is a scam. I bought Summer Winds $129 'offer' over a year ago, and after I was told it would cost another $29 to extend the 'offer', I drove down this past week. A 'Joanne' was helpful in suggesting shows and in ordering tickets for myself and a granddaughter.1. I checked the hotel they sent me to for bedbugs, and found two bugs crawling and one dead one on one of the two beds in the room. My granddaughter found small reddish stains (blood? Also a sign of bed bugs) on the mattress pad. The deskclerk threatened that if I didn't go back and make the bed, she would charge me for the room, even though I brought the bugs to show her.Summer Winds did give us a motel change, saying that there were indoor and outdoor pools at the option they sent me to. 2. The 2nd motel seemed adequate, but there was no indoor pool, and the outdoor pool was drained.3. I attended the 'spiel' the next day, bringing my two granddaughters, the 2nd having decided to come also. While I was asking for help getting show tickets for the 2nd child, personnel were trying to push me into the 'conference' with their salesman. I said it was more important to get the tickets straightened out, or was I going to check the child at the theater door? A woman assured me she would arrange for the tickets, and that she would report that I had found bedbugs in one of their motels.4. The 90 minute exposition turned into 4 hours. The salesman threatened that I would not get my $129 of 'perks' if I didn't stay seated. I told him my grandchildren were 'in jail' in their daycare room, which, by the way, smelled of cess. This guy alternately cajoled and badgered me to like his product, which he insisted was not a timeshare, but which I would get a deed for if I purchased. Ultimately, he dangled a $32,000 price, plus $454 upkeep for year, plus $299 per week for a week's vacation at any one of 100's of worldwide resort properties. He kept pressing me even though I repeatedly declined. Then he came up with $9000 plus $454 every 3 or 4 years, plus $299 per week, and said I needed to sign that very day, as it was illegal (against MO law?) to make his offers to me after that very day. I continued to decline. I did get tea, hotdogs, and a bus ride to a set of condos that could be used as a vacation site choice.5. My body hurt so bad from 700 miles of driving the day before, and 3 hours of sitting, that when I found out no tickets had been ordered for my 2nd granddaughter, I was not a happy camper. It took another hour for them to do that job. They sent me on.6. I realized after travelling to my motel, that they had not sent the voucher to pay the motel, and they had not given me a promised 'coupon book'. 7. In the long run, I discovered I could have bought my tickets for less money at the theaters, that my granddaughters were free for events they charged me for, that they gave me kids tix for adult meal upgrades I had purchased, and that I could have gotten better prices and a better grade motel on my own.So, BUYER BEWARE Summer Winds. You're better off organizing your own vacation.
I think I get it. From what I read here, and what showed up on my caller ID (SUMMERWINDS RES), I am fairly certain this is about trying to sell shares in Branson properties. They called me today, and I always screen my calls through my answering machine. They hung up and left no message. Here's the backstory, and all of you should think back as well. On July 31st, my husband and I went back to my hometown of Eufaula, Oklahoma to visit family for the weekend. It was also the weekend of the great redneck holiday called Whole Hawg Days (lots of bbq, cars shows, poker run, parade, street dance, carnival and booths upon booths of stuff and junk, in the heat of the summer sun by Lake Eufaula---CANT BREATHE!! But it was fun, in a very redneck holiday way, LOL!). There was one booth there that was having a drawing for a really nice customized mini cooper. My husband immediately began to drool over it, so we both filled out a card to enter the drawing. I noticed offhand the fine print detailing it was sponsored by a resort/vacation/timeshare company in Branson, MO. I knew then that I would probably eventually be recieving phonecalls for solicitations. I can only hope that we maybe won that car, my husband would be a very happy man, but I highly doubt it. They would have left a message for that I am sure. I am also sure we will be hearing from them again, and again, and again...Now, any of you remember doing anything similar in the past several months, filling out for a drawing for something totally cool but didn't pay attention to the fine print? I can most certainly guarentee you that is how you got on thier hit list, and that you didn't win a dern thing but more unsolicited telemarketing calls...
im sure its not a scam but im not giving them my bank account info over the phone like they wanted. That is not right!!
Bingo. I signed up for the Mini Cooper at Jazzfest in Sioux Falls SD. That is where they got our phone numbers. I as well figured that my info would be sold to some marketing company. My own fault for using my real phone number!
OK SO THIS NUMBER KEEPS CALLING ME AT WORK AND ON MY CELL PHONE AND WILL NOT LEAVE ME ALONE. THEY WANT ME TO PAY 139 UP FRONT AND WITH CHECK BY PHONE, DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD. IM NOT GOING TO GIVE THEM MY ACCT INFO OVER THE PHONE. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD GET THE HINT IF I DONT ANSWER OR IF I HANG UP ON THEM BC IM AT WORK AND CANNOT HAVE PERSONAL PHONE CALLS!!!! HOW DO I GET THEM TO STOP?? HELP!!
i've gotten 3 phone calls in 1 week, haven't answered it, b/c i didn't know the number, plus i figured if it was important, they would leave a message & they haven't done that
Just got a call from this number (November 6, 2010 12:06pm central time). The recorded message said "Somebody's phone's blowing up..." and I do not know what after that because I hung up.After reading a few of the other posts I am wondering how I ended up on this calling list. I have not purchased any raffle tickets to win a car and have not been to Taste of Omaha. They must be expanding their resources for gathering new phone numbers.Best wishes to all in getting these calls stopped. Thanks for taking time to post and help new-comers find out what is going on with these scam-sters.
