I received a call telling me that we had won a trip to Branson. I am always skeptical of solicitations like this, but the salesman told me that they would throw in a golf package for myself and my wife at a discounted rate. Our package included a $30 dinner certificate, two rounds of golf at Branson Creek or Payne Stewart, a VIP coupon book, and one extra night for a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday arrival--all for the discounted rate of $199.00. In addition, we were quoted an extra round of golf at Branson Creek or Payne Steward for a discounted rate of 63.50. Upon arriving in Branson on Thursday, we told them that we wanted to play Branson Creek in our package, and we wanted to pay 63.50 per person to play Payne Stewart. The manager, Kari Bowen told us that we could not do that because they would not honor the 63.50 price that had been quoted to us on the phone. I was furious and I expressed my disappointment and frustration. Because I would not agree with her, Kari Bowen ended up taking away the golf from our package, and told us we could not tour their property (that part didn't disappoint me, though). We ended up paying for our golf out of pocket. This place is a SCAM--we got nothing except three nights and a thirty dollar food voucher--for 199.00. We had a letter of confirmation, but they did not deliver the entire value that we had paid. We had to pay for our own golf because they denied quoting the golf package plus the discounted rounds of golf. When I told them I wanted to speak with the salesperson, they told me they did not know the name of the salesperson and they did not know how to contact them. They gave us a name of someone named Lucinda Waters to contact with complaints, but Lucinda did not return our phone calls either. All people who have complaints against this company should file a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General's Office--I know I intend to.Caller: Summer Winds Resort, Branson
I also had registered to win a car and got endless calls in return. Be sure to get your phone number registered on the National Do Not Call List - it really helps!
I got called from them but did not answer twice tonight, I was told by a lawyer this is what you do. answer the phone, tell them you are recording this phone call do they understand. if you can record it that would be great, cuz if you record the conversation and you tell them to stop calling you. the judges are getting feed up with these companys and if you take em to court which any lawyer will be happy to do so cuz they like money too. you will get a big payday. after you record them, keep track of everytime they call you and nice payday for yourself.
You are the only lucky one so far. they called me and said the same thing but they never called back
I got the Branson/ Summer winds call today. Thanks to all of you who wrote, so I knew it was a scam.
I also just got a call saying we signed up for a car drawing and won a trip for 80% off. When I said I wouldnt give them a credit card or debit card number they quickly hung up.
Offered 80% off vacation to Branson, I had read this board and new what they were calling about so I answered and was prepared. I politely said no and she abruptly hung up without a response. I HATE THAT!I filled out an entry form at the Indiana Home and Garden Show in 2012
Me and my boyfriend signed up to win a car & we entered our parents and our siblings to win also. They have been calling everyone that we signed up for the car. We have not answered the calls anymore because we think it's impossible for everyone to win the car. It has to be a scam!!!
