They called left no message, it is listed as Citi . . . be very wary. Number is from Tennessee
This was regarding my credit card- I had made a large purchase and they were checking the validity of it. They left a message and I called back the 1800 # (not the 423) it it was a legitimate call.
This actually was a legit call for me. I bought appliances at Best Buy, was on their land line as they were going through credit application and they handed me the phone. The lady stated they needed to verify the number on my app (I never give cell phone but did this time) so while on the phone with her (landline) she put me on hold and called cell phone and just asked to verify that I was actually applying for credit. I verified this and she returned to the land line and said thank you. No harm from this number in my opinion.
I just got a call from this number telling me that this is from SEARS because some fraudulent activity, reference number 1635 the person leaving the message was call Sonia, I called I told them that I dont have a Sears account they told me that some one could open an account under my name but couldnt verify using only the reference number they need it my SS# of course I already knew that this is SCAM, just dont even contact this number. Scam POlice please do soemthing. I can see that this is an on going issue.
It was Citi Financial that called,, I have Vision electronics card that is through Citi Financial and they just wanted to confirm that I made a purchase couple of days ago and that it wasn't some else. That was all on my side of the call.
I received a call from this number for Tractor Supply Credit app. It is legitimate I had filled an onlineapplication for in store credit, but of course it couldn't be completed without verifying more information. I didn't not call back because I don't want to be talked into more credit then I asked for.In store credit if paid in full within six month no interested. I was asking for 600 dollars in store credit. That shouldn't need further verification when I am making the payments at the store.
This number called Monday saying I had applied for Home Depot credit... Did not. I will call Home Depot directly tomorrow. Scammmmm
It is a real Citi Bank Early Fraud Call. But I was not sure, so I called the phone number on the back of my card. Better to be safe than sorry!
