Jus received a call from this nice guy,said he was from Home Depot,whom i jus applied to for company credit,not even 42 hours ago,so he ALMOST had me,asking me for ssn is what rung a bell.

Legit number for me. Had applied for a credit card from Citi then a few days later got an email saying my application needed further info so I called the number in their email. They forwarded me to this rep who confirmed some info and then called me back from this number. Application was then immediately approved and I got the confirmation via email (also confirmed on Citi's website that my application was approved). So, it ended up being legit for me.

Citibank handles Home Depot's credit cards.The problem is that Citibank hasn't listed this number on their website as one of their own.As scammers can easily spoof this number, one should see a call from this number as a reason to call the number on their credit card or the number on their statement, or the number on Citibank's website.

I received a call today from 423-467-6460 today. At first I didn't answer, but after they called back I decided to answer. It was to advise me of a fraudulent account that had been opened in my name by someone in Miami,FL recently. I don't live anywhere near Florida. While on the phone I logged into my monitoring service and low and behold someone had opened an unauthorized account in my name. They help me to file a report and set up free monitoring through Citibank for 7 years. Also helped in notifying all 3 Credit Agencies of this fraud, so it can be removed from my account. Also helped in filing a Police Report. From what I can tell it was legit. Very Helpful.

I guess these scammers are fishing for victims. They claim to be a credit card company, don't believe some random accented person that calls you. And don't believe the caller id, it is easily spoofed.

Same exact thing for me.

I don't have a CITI bank credit card and I don't shop at Best Buy. Why are they calling me if they are legit?

I received a call from this number - I didn't recognize the # so I didn't answer. They left a message stating they were calling to verify an application for American Airlines credit card - gave me 877-406-5654 and a reference #. I called the 423 # first to tell them to stick it but there was no ring nor a message machine - so I called the 877# and it was a legitimate Citi phone number. I told the person what happened and she thanked me and said that she would follow up with the credit bureaus to delete the inquiry from my credit scoring. I did not supply her with any confidential information of course (I have worked in a bank for many years to know better) - but the reference number provided gave her what she needed. Bottom line = if you did NOT apply for a credit card then someone is trying to steal your identity so call Citi to report that the application is a fraud.

FYSA, this is a legitimate Citigroup, Inc. number. They called me and left a voicemail regarding a credit card dispute. I knew exactly which credit card they were referring to because I had to start a dispute process with a credit card that they issue. Citigroup powers certain retailer credit cards (notably, the Best Buy credit card). The number looks weird, yes, but this one is okay.

So I got the same call it was a real call from citi bank about a real account that was used in my name I got a voice mail message stating that I have a commercial account at Home Depot they said that its urgent for me to get back with them as soon as possible and that it's very urgent but the thing is I never applied for anything at Home Depot so my question is if I never applied how would this Citi bank have my contact info to call me when my number was never used on a credit application for these people how did they get my cell phone number this is kinda spooky so I called the number and they wanted to know what number am I calling from so they could verify my account I didn't give them anything cause I didn't know what or who this was and what this was about can someone tell me how they got my contact info if I never applied for a Home Depot
