Cards for many different businesses such as Sears, Home Depot etc are handled by Citibank. It may possibly be shown somewhere on the back of the card. It's entirely possible the call you received is valid. The fraud department usually calls when they notice some unusual transaction and they want to verify that someone else is not trying to use your card without your knowledge.

This is not a scam. I let the call go to voicemail. They left a number for me to call concerning needing additional information for a disputed charge on my Best Buy Card. I called the number and talked with a Best Buy person, no problems. I assume this is a contract service for Best Buy to review applications and disputes for them. The Call Type is unknown because this service didn't have a valid item to pick from their list.

They said it was Best Buy Security Department and verifying an account from 2009. I hang up and called back. The message said it was Citi and gave a different 800 number to call. This is very suspicious. Beware!

This number is CitiBank Fraud Unit. It was legit. I called them and they called me back from this number. It's probably an outsourced call center but still legit.

SCAM! This number was NOT RECOGNIZED by Citi fraud. I received a message on my voicemail, directing me to call a different number (red flag) about "suspected fraud". I googled the number, and no results indicated any legitimate link to Citi (second red flag). I called Citi directly using the number on my credit card, and they confirmed that there were no concerns with my account and that it was NOT a Citi phone number. Only call the number on your credit card to verify!

This is legitimate Citibank number. Had an issue with my credit card and got disconnected while on hold and received a call back from this # from the same person I was talking to.
