After contacting a Microsoft site for technical support and reinstallation of software, I got a call from this number saying thebankcard did not go through and that I needed to call the bank. I requested an invoice itemizing the charge, and the 25-character code for the installed software. I asked this validation because at first it was $40, then another $50, then $99. So I was uncomfortable about this. I did a search on the number and it said Microsoft. Yet the transaction seemed irregular.I learned there was a 10-hour difference in time zones, so the WA phone exchange is misleading perhaps. Cultural differences perhaps understandable but unsettling nonetheless, all in all.

2nd time in the week they called, first time they claimed to be Microsoft and wanted to remove to remove a virus from my computer, I burst out laughing and told them they were calling the I.T. department of a Fortune 50 company. He said sorry didn't mean to call a business. Just now another call, this must be a new guy, there was a long pause then he said "This is Microsoft" I started laughing again and said "People still fall for that sh*t " and hung up. I hope I didn't burst his confidence.
