We live in Central TX. We are on the AARP ADVANTAGE PLAN (UNITED HEATH CARE PLAN) United Healthcare denies that they offer this service. These people not only want to send a "health care practicer" but they will leave a $25.00 VISA gift card upon completion of a 45min to 1hr health check, they need to verify 3 types of information to complete the eligibility. (Bad grammar and weird syntax by the foreign operator AND her supervisor!)I want to know; how do they know that we are on the AARP Advantage Plan? Does United Healthcare sell our Info? They had our correct names and plan types....
Don't put up with harassing phone calls from these people. Just BLOCK them on your cell or home phone. I told them I was not interested in their service and not to call again. They did call back so I block their number.
Calls from this number originate from the HOUSECALLS PROGRAM associated and administered by UNITED HEALTH CARE, for AARP Securie Horizans and other health coverage for seniors medicare administered by UHC. They want to send a NP ( Nurse Practitioner) to the home of the insured to perform a physical exam supposedly be work in tandem with the insured's physician. In my opinion, this would be a good thing for homebound people, or those with chronic illnesses ( which is what the program originated as) HOWEVER, I do not want a third party coming to my home to assess not only me, but what the conditions are within my home environment with regard to safety and probably cleanliness ( to be sure I am not a hoarder, living in squalor, because I am a senior citizen), I do not need this service AT THIS TIME. If I wanted a NP to come to my home, I'd FIND ONE MYSELF. The CRUX of this issue is they call EVERY DAMN DAY. I can only assume, to break me down so I will ultimately agree...these phone calls are all automated...no person on the other end, because I think if it were a person, they could be reported for harassment. Or something..... Isn't it harassment when someone keeps calling you and you don't want them to, and have TOLD them you do not want to participate in the program?
You shouild not call others paranoid for exercising their RIGHT TO CHOOSE.
And they will give you a $25 gift card from Wal mart too.
FYI:AARP has nothing to do with the healthcare plans, they simply either allow or are paid for the healthcare plan to USE THEIR LOGO----people think AARP has something to do with the coverage, but they DO NOT. It is MEDICARE, administered or underwritten by United Health Care. NOT AARP.
my husband and I have had this service for about 3 yrs. you may think you don't need it but if they had not come to my house last year I wouldn't have known I had blood in my stool. I preceded to get a colonoscopy which showed I had two pre-cancerous polys in my colon as well as on at the base of my esophagus which the doctor removed. So in my instance the NP was s God send. And by the way, yes, I do get checkups every six months.
its very obvious that you don't have a life for you to have written all that. And furthermore you are WRONG! We've had these very nice very trained nurse practitioners coming to our house for 3 yrs even though my husband and I both get regular checkups. We're always here at the same time do not concerned about safety. They do NO invasive examinations. They DO ask a bunch of health related questions and they have NEVER tried to sell us anything or convince us to have tests done. They treat you with respect and they're free. They send the answers to their questions to your primary physician. ANDY they give you a gift for participating at the end of their appointment. So don't judge so harshly what you know nothing about. Sounds like you could use the head doc to me. Just saying. Lol.
If this is really your Health Insurance provider, they already know what meds you are on as they get the info from the provider of your Pharmacy costs. Do not give any info.
The phone number 443-853-6898 is another example of "spoofing"Some clever hackers especially in Voice over IP (VoIP) networks) allow callers to forge Caller ID information and present false names and numbers. This is called "spoofing.""House Calls Home Care" (which has this phone number) is a legitimate licensed home care agency certified to provide Home Care services in Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens and Westchester County in the State of New York.I live in Florida. Why would they call me to advertise their services?
