I just got a call from this number and ignored it. Since I don't have VoiceMail set up (I suggest this to everyone), I have no idea who it was. Ah ha! Then I read your post. I am EXPECTING a call from Pro-Active. :) I bet it's them.

all of the advice that i just read, sounds like that..."good advice". i recently switched my land-line to firber optics with att and it allows a feature to block calls from about 20 numbers. my father passed away several years ago and various collection agencies are attempting to bully me into paying credit card bills from 7 years ago, even though we published in several newspapers of my father's death and noted that anyone seeking payment was to contact our lawyer prior to the final disposition. so i thought it was a troubled bill collector who purchased one of my father's old debts and was distraught that he could not reach me due to the new "blocking" feature.if i can discover the source or addditional information, i'll certtainly post it as well.good hunting,chris

Just received a call from this number. The lady told me that my phone number had just called her... which is untrue I have not called anyone at all today. When I asked her about the odd number she was calling from she said it was a government number. She didn't try to sell me anything just wanted to know why I called her.

I'll settle this for everyone this normally done by any business who is trying to get ahold of usually there normal number gets blocked or you can trace it. So they manage to manipulate your caller id, with all 4's or 0's so that you have no way of figuring it out and making you curious enough to answer it. just keep reporting the numbers or blocking them.

No, it is very very likely that any number with repeating digits is either a survey company or scam because these companies can pay to a foreign phone company to make their real number not appear and then use that foreign phone company to call you with, which is why you commonly hear foreign accents.

Got a voice mail from 444 444-4444, some sleazy telemarketers promoting weight loss services even though I am on the Do Not Call List. Obviously fraudulent.

I got 444-444-4444 and it said "This is Kenora Industries" (sp?) They are doing market research on a weight loss products. I hung up after that.
