Oh, no! I hate what I'm reading on here. I have just bought a car. Have only had one payment due and it was paid on time (a day or so early, actually). HAD to pay by phone because the bill didn't come in time for me to be sure it would get back by return mail before the due date. Was charged $10.50 fee for paying over the phone, but when I said, oh, well I'll pay online (which most companies encourage now), they said it would cost the $10.50 fee to pay online also. They have called my phone numerous times EVERY day since I made my payment, and the next payment is not due, yet. I don't answer because they don't leave a message. I never answer a call if I don't recognize the number, and if no message is left, then I don't try to call back. I have a 60 month loan - 59 months to go! This makes me want to take the car back to the dealer!Does anyone know what laws apply in NC? And is the class action suit being filed against them for people from Texas only?The company is spelled SANTANDER, but the rep I spoke to when I made the payment said it like "SONTANDAIR."
They most certainly do give car loans, I just took delivery on a vehicle from Carmax last night and Santander is the lender.
The FDCPA only applies to collection agencies. The actual company you owe money to can call you as often as they like.
They do new car loans, unfortunately I just bought a car and they are my new company and we haven't even made our first payment and they are already harassing me. Completely regretting buying this car.
I keep getting phone calls from this number and would like for this company to stop calling me.
