For 2 weeks I have been getting phone calls from this #. The first couple of days I would get hung up on as I would do my answer routine, thankfully we have caller ID on our business lines. Then when I would see the Cyprus I would just answer with the business name, they would then identify themselves and ask if the owner was available, each time I would say no they would hang up. Today I answer 'Hello' and they ask if it is this business and I stupidly respond 'Yes' the gal says 'wrong number' and hangs up. How did she know the business name if it was a wrong number? Then it dawns on me I have been scammed, they are just trying to get you to say the word 'Yes'. If they have that they can fill in the blanks and use it to do whatever they want, legally no, but I don't think that they care about that.
called number back, and it gave me the option to leave my number to add to their "do not call list"
Lady called from "Cypress 469-941-5952" asked to speak with owner. I asked her to put us on the do not call list, that I was the owner. Caller said the call was recorded, asked if I had any idea why she was calling, then lectured me about how I speak to people calling our business. Hung up on her at that point.
Very persistent. We have had this number blocked for months, they call regularly. Lately it has been around 8:15 a.m. and sometimes in the afternoon, same day.
She said she was Cypress Corporate -- wanted to talk to the boss -- when I asked again what she wanted she hung up. I AM THE GATE KEEPER! SHE WILL NEVER TALK TO HIM!
These are usually Indians from Indian "phishing" for information to sell their fake Viagra. Just block the stupid numbers ... The idiots will keep trying the blocked numbers though. They really are stupid people!
