It's Macy's. They were trying to authorize a suspicious charge on my credit card. Glad I answered this call. I never made that purchase!
They keep calling me repeatedly for someone who does not live here! I have told them many time but they just keep calling!
I missed a call from this number only to realize they never left a voicemail. I called back a few times to get a busy tone, on my third time someone finally answered. I was transfered to the account verification line for them to tell me they didn't know why I was called. I don't have an account or a gift card, OR any onlie orders. They looked up my phone number in the data base and told me to assume it was a misdialed call....I also checked my bank accound and there was no strange activity as of now
The caller ID said MCCS Inc and it was Macy's, calling to follow up on a furniture delivery. Perfectly legitimate.
This is also a number they call from to verify orders recently placed online... I just got a call from them and they wanted to verify that I had placed the order. Maybe because it was my first online purchase from Macy's.
It's Macy's Consumer Protection department. I didn't answer and they left a message telling me what it was regarding and a reference # to call back with. I placed an online order late Saturday evening. Earlier in the day I had used my Macy's card to make a purchase in store. They didn't have the shoes I wanted in my size and when I went home I decided to look online; found them and ordered them. Guess it was a 'suspicious' activity since 1.) I had JUST paid off my balance 2 days before, 2.) Hadn't used my card in a few months to add new purchases, and 3.) It was used for BOTH an in-store and on-line transactions on the same day.
So it's from Macy's. I ordered a purse and they wanted to know my shipping address . But always make sure to work them and ask them questions to make sure their legit. Anyways this was just a conformation call so my order could be shipped .
It was suspicious because I purchased something from both Macy's and Bloomingdales today, same person called me just to verify shipping address.
This number has called other numbers asking to speak to me claiming that I gave them their numbers when I did not. Now they are calling me and leave no message. They claim that someone other than M.D. is using my Macy acct. But that is a lie.
Call with voicemail from 513-398-5221 saying the call was to verify a purchase at macys.com. The caller left a reference number and a different call back number 866-282-8977 and said I needed to call by 9pm eastern time. After reviewing this thread I called the 866-282-8977 number which is for macys and bloomindales. Followed the prompts for a macys order. The agent asked me to verify my mailing address, email and phone number used for the order and then asked for the shipping address (which was different than the billing address). After verification he said the order had been placed on hold due to differences in the billing and shipping address and that he would release the order. The total cost of the order was between $400 - $600 so I'm guessing that the price of the order and the differences in address caused the call to happen.
