Called this morning looking for someone else (first name only) regarding a large purchase from Bloomingdale's. Left a reference number and the 866 number as a callback.
I received a call from this number about an hour after I placed an order on macys.com. Didn't put up. They left a voicemail with a call-back number and a reference number. I went to macys.com, found their customer service number, called, and verified some information about my order. Bottom line: the call is legitimate.
Got a call from this number 513-398-5221 Macy' Credit Service Dept. calling me to verify a purchase I had made online the day before for their E gift cards. At first he didn't sound professional and he spoke to me in a very unpleasant tone of voice until I wished him a Happy Holidays at the end of our conversation when he was satisfied that my answer to his question was correct. Only then his voice tone became more friendly. Just my experience.
This was Macys they just wanted to confirm my billing adress for an online order I placed earlier today. Since I relocated and failed to change my billing address. Feels good to know that they are cautious regarding bill to / ship to discrepancies.

Keep getting calls from this number. Caller ID says 'Alberta' so looks like it's from the Provincial Government, but no-one there if I pick up and never leaves a message.
