Like others, called, left no message.Too bad I didn't know it was the Microsoft scam. I wonder what they do when told I don't have a computer, OR, tell them the conversation is being recorded by local authorities.Then again, I really don't care :-D

This number called me today at 10am. My phone displayed it as Erin, Ontario, Canada. I did not pick up because I suspected it was the computer scammers. I have a Mac, I don't use Microsoft so when they call I usually pick up and mess with them then finally admit my computer isnt compatible. They ALWAYS hang up.

This appears to be a Chicago boiler room operation using at least five different spoofed CID numbers: 217-666-4115, 224-250-9923, 309-270-1933, 519-315-8813, and 630-481-7958. They all use the same set of scam stories. The call source appears to be Chicago because most of the spoofed numbers have Chicago area codes. Do not give any personal or credit card info. Get a call blocker from Amazon.com such as a CPR blocker with a 1200 number blocker list.

CID said Unknown Name. No VM. We do no answer unknown, unrecognized, or unsolicited calls.

After what seems like years of hanging up on these type of calls, I now have fun with them (if I'm in the mood). When they mention Windows, I ask if they're giving away Windows because my house could use some new ones. Or I say my husband just replaced the only bad Windows we had. When the word computer is mentioned I ask if they're sending me a free one. Most often I just say I don't have a computer, that I live off the grid! Even when they call my cell. Usually there is some ackward stuttering from the caller before they hang up. I know I'm not really making an impact on the boiler room operation, but maybe the time I'm taking up is keeping them from making a call or two.

I get a call from "windows" at least once a week around noon EST. THE caller has an Indian accent. A couple of years ago I reported a problem with my computer to AT &T. I received a call from a man from Windows with an Indian accent who spent 4 hrs. On the phone with me guiding me to fix the computer. It never was corrected. This is who calls me. The calls are harassment as far as I am concerned.
