It is a valid number ... I was just called by the number and came to this site right away to check. My experience with UPS was great. I even used one of the above posts to get the phone number I could call them back on before my voicemail on my phone announced I had a message. (866-706-6897) I had ordered from JC Penney's. The package came while we were out of town according to the online tracking info. When we returned, there was no package! My neighbor had been watching for it. No package! When our "held mail" came after Labor Day, there was my package in with my USPS mail. I have finally learned from UPS that Penney's sends many of their orders through UPS Basic. That means they truck it with UPS to the post office from which your mail comes. Well, who knew? I sure didn't. Glad I do now, though. Sorry if I got a bit off the track, but maybe someone else had the same problem. UPS isn't responsible for the package once they turn it over to the USPS.If my cell phone rings and there is only a number with no name attached, I DO NOT answer it. If someone wants to talk to me, they need to leave a voicemail. :D
Be aware that this is a valid UPS outgoing #, but also be aware (you didn't know this) that there are ways to spoof caller ID. A bad guy can call from one # but show another, legitimate one on your phone. My incoming call was legitimate, they left a message, and I called the number they left (a different one), reached UPS and verified a missing package that I had reported to the seller. The call was to verify the seller claim as the last step in their investigation. Now they will provide confirmation to the seller that the package vanished so the seller can issue me a refund. That's the way it works.
This Call, When Returned is Reported to be a "Non-Working Number at UPS."
A person called me from this number who claimed to be with UPS asking about a package that UPS was investigating. However, there is something suspicious about this, because we had not ordered anything. I got the feeling it was someone trying to glean some time of information. They gave me a UPS tracking number, but when I tried tracking it on the UPS website, it was not a valid number. However, this could be because they claim it was shipped in October and it's been over a month. I don't know how long UPS keeps tracking numbers in their database.
Same story. Received a call on 2/26/08 @ 4:25 p.m. claiming to be Joe Beddencourt from UPS wanting to confirm we had received a package from HSN (that had turned out to be a stolen credit card number - of course did not tell him that!).
call from this number no message thought it was from an ex-girlfriend trying to reach me jessica campbell she used to be in with stolen credit cards
3/3/08 1:11pm was time date of call
two calls, no messages, one it was like they forgot to hang up for a few seconds, but couldn't hear what they were trying to say. Both calls 3/27 around 10 am and 7 pm
Yes, this is UPS. I called in a claim about a lost package. I answered and it was UPS responding about it
I got the same call. Claimed to be calling from "UPS Store in California, doing a follow-up whether I receieved my watch." I never ordered a watch from California; plus the fact it is an AZ area code. He knew my full name and address and asked me to confirm it. What's the deal?!?

Caller said they were from FNBO and wanted to verify information about a credit increase/application. I hung up because I have not applied for any credit or credit line increases.
Annoying Calls on my cell.
Have gotten almost a dozen calls from this number in the last two days. Hispanic speaker, when they speak. Men, women, even children in the background on one call. Finally, blocked the number.
