Sheriff Mike Winters (recording) called with a message to support Rob Patridge for District Attorney in Jackson County.I am on the National DNC list.'Just what we need in Jackson County, Oregon: A Sheriff breaking the law to support a partner in crime for District Attorney.Scratch one candidate from consideration; I'd favour a law-abiding District Attorney before I'd vote for an outlaw.

I too have been receiving calls from this number once or twice a day for the past two weeks on weekdays, during the day with no message left on our answering machine. When I call back the number I get the 'Person that called you is away from his/her desk; please your name and number ..." message. I tried calling back at least 10 times at different days and times, same messsage was played back. I saw others wrote here "CommNet" as the caller, memberships expired at LA, Philadelphia Zoos. We too have a membership expired at Philadelphia Zoo. It is very frustrating because it wakes us up when we need to sleep in, gets us out of the bathroom, etc. making us believe it's a family/friend calling. I have not seen any solutions here as to how to stop it. All of our numbers are on all the do not call list. How do we stop them ?

For the past week, every two days my home office number and cell ring at exactly the same time, both from this numbner. Some web searching indicates it is a firm that calls on behalf of non-profits. My take: if they cannot leave a message then they do not need to talk to me that badly.

I just checked the national DNC regulations and see that it **IS** legal for Sheriff Mike Winters to harass Jackson County residents, making political calls for Rob Patridge.Even if the "law" says that our Sheriff may, legally, harass us, I hope that National DNC regulations are tightened to clamp down on phone-spam sheriffs and other political callers.

I just figured it was somebody pi$$ed at the message on my machine:"If you speak English, then please leave a message after the tone. If you do not speak English, then please hang up and call back later when you do speak English."

Call around 3:05pm est no msg left. What the hell. Did not need to talk with me to bad hey....

They call me daily and leave no message. I did go to the Comnet (Medford, OR) web page and asked to be removed from their list.

I keep getting calls from this number, and this time I answered it. I said "hello" and waited a few seconds, expecting someone to answer. Silence. I said "hello" again, and still silence, so I hung up.

Received call at 4:42 p.m. EST - I answered and they almost immediately hung up. This is the first time I've received a call from this nummber.

Are any of you teachers? I answered the call today and they said they are from NCTM which is a national math teachers organization. Possibly a scam to get my information?
