A woman just called my home from that number @ 7:00pm est. I got off the phone because I wasn't sure if it was really Social Security calling. By googling and seeing this page, I'm sure I did the right thing hanging up.

Received this call during working hours. I was not home and spouse took message that I was to call.Supposedly SS office they left the following 800 number800-775-7802 extension 31356I forgot to call and left the number at the office.So when I checked my caller ID this am it was the 570-831-1296

I came here and searched this number when it came up... They didn't leave a message but my caller ID said LindaA Burke. Just like that, without the space. Has anyone else seen that on the ID?

This number called twice this morning. Called ID says Kimberly A. Sha 1-570-831-1296. Didn't leave a message.

Received a call from this number on 12/23/10 at 9:23 am. Did not answer the call.

This number called my cell repeatedly (7 times), every few minutes. I answered the first one - to hear a fax machine blasting in my ear. Guess it took a while to realize they weren't calling a fax!

This is a social security #. The Wilkes-Barre PA office has customer service reps that do work as late as 1 AM and handle calls to the west coast up to 9 PM which is midnight here on the east coast. The toll free 1-800-775-7802 also goes into the same social security office. You are smart by being concerned and never giving out any info without verification.

570-831-1296 and 800-775-7802 are both #s for Social Security Wilkes-Barre, PA office. The customer service representatives in PA work until after midnight at this location. You are wise to always verify information.

How do you know that this is really social security. I see that you have posted twice. It makes me concerned that you are tryig to reassure others that this is real. What is your proff? Something seems fishy.

Hello,So to help confirm that this is a social security line, I got a call from this phone number just a few minutes ago (9:09pm). I was right in front of the computer when it happened so I came here thinking it was some scammer. When I went back and listed to the voice mail it was my friends mom who left the message. I know for a fact she works at social security.
