Repeatedly calls my cell phone. No one is on the line when I answer. When I don't answer does not leave a message. The last few times,, has only let phone ring once, maybe twice and hangs up.

Hung up right before answering machine. I owe a ton for medical bills so it could be related to that. Pretty sure my scumbag health insurance company has a hand in this.

I pick up the call, there is total silence at the other end of the line.

Yes, it's likely a debt collector. In this case my father passed away and owed some money. But incredible they never leave a vm & hang up when i pick up. I finally just blocked that # on my smart phone.

its an auto dialer robot to make sure that the phone number is good and active. Sneaky way to make sure you aren't avoiding their calls, as in court they can show that you are avoiding the debt.

Right - a collections co. may call on behalf of different companies, so it won't necessarily be about Quest for everyone.

There are apps to block calls. Some free... some only cost $1.00.The ones that cost a $1.00 have unlimited blocking.The free ones limit how many calls you can block.It was worth a dollar for me. I have 26 blocked numbers.
