These scammers "Credit card services" are using many different phone numbers- local and long distance. They seem to be ahead of the technology - so far, it is not possible to identify or stop them. It is great to have available websites where one can share the information with other people across Canada.
Just received a call from this number here in BC. Didn't recognize number so did not answer. They did leave a message about reducing my credit card interest rate to 6%, but did not say who was calling. I checked the number here and now am blocking them. If no name is displayed on my phone, it immediately makes me suspicious.

Am in Toronto. Robocall at 12:21 p.m. with msg left on answering machine about 'final" offer to reduce credit card rates.A scam, of course that has been going on for years. Used to 'Carol" phoning regularly telling you it was your last chance to reduce your rates - now a different bogus caller.
Listening to this recorded message from (604)430-1091 was interesting. "This is Heather calling, from Account Services . . . there is no problem with your account . . . deadline for taking advantage of our service to lower your interest rates is soon." I don't push any numbers - I just listen. When I was invited to push 1 to speak to a "live person" (golly, I would be frightened to speak to a dead person!) I did nothing, so the recorded voice said, "I'm sorry, that was an invalid response." I felt I gave a valid response by doing nothing, because anybody who has a record of my account would not send a vague recorded message saying it is an "account Service"! It would be a real person, alive, speaking to me from a valid phone number! Reports like "didn't answer. It is a scam" aren't very helpful , because there is no proof, no information about the call itself.
Received an automated call at Sept 5, 2014 at 10:54am Recording said something about my credit card and I hung up.Call display shows number (604) 430-1091 and repeats the number as to person calling.

The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.

Unsolicited call. Wanted me to complete my "voter profile." I've voted from this address for over 20 years.
It happened to me they got into my computer and got all bank info they took over $4000. from me left me with nothing. Don't trust anyone this was a setup.
