Calling me but why? Please someone STOP this caller already~~comes in as being from Director Assistance. It's isn't.
They are scammers and they use the Directory Assistance of British Columbia, a Province (State) in Canada.They did that after I reported them to the Police and got them kicked out and hopefully arrested after giving "warning" about legal action from CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) like the Federal Tax Department in USA, and leaving messages to the fools or those who can be fooled to pay them by "Credit Card" or get "Arrested by the Police"!! Np government Agency in the world would collect taxes via Credit Cards!! So, they reversed their method, by leaving a fraudulent call to this number to charge long distance.They called again while I am writing this and used 1-877-992-3999, another fraud attempt!!
Another scammer with a programmed random phone number being displayed. But in this case an area code with 555-1212 is the number for directory assistance.......they don't place calls to anyone!....you call them to get a phone number in another area code. Boy, that scammer got fleeced for that number!hahahahahaha! No message left on answer machine!
Call rang yester afternoon (Eastern TIme Zone)... Rang 1 ring then got diverted to Off Hours -Intercept (Called at 8 PM)... This scam artist is one of the dumber ones. 555-1212 in North America, as the previous poster mentioned is the number for Directory Assistance inbound only calls. So since it has NNX 555-1212 it can be safely ignored. The minions who run the phone systems all recognize this one, and sadly when they rang in the afternoon, with only one ring, then gave up, All the more reason to add to the scam list.
