Caller: "I MUST speak to,." ( Caller is a woman. She asked for our IT person by name. She sounds like she just got in from a 3-mile run.)Me (non-IT rube): "Ok. I'll have her call you. She's not here."Caller: "But I can only speak to him."Me: "He is a she." (Isn't there a lot of that in India?)Caller: "Ok. I need her to talk to her immediately!" (Fat effing chance.)Me: "Ok. What's your number?"Caller: "No. I MUST speak to her." (Desperation setting in. Do they get lashed for not getting through to their target?")Me: "Ok. What's your number?" (At this point she started mumbling.)Caller: "Uh. Oh. Wait. Here it is: 571-223-7950. I must speak to her immediately." (Callers direct line according to them.)Her name is "Wendy". I'm pretty sure she's in the one of the lovely cities of either Chennai or Pune. Maybe I should have asked her to email me a picture of her with a fish on her head while holding a glass of milk in her right hand. It worked for some fratboys with a nigerian. I was fantastic.
After daily calls from this number, I finally started wasting their time by just putting them on hold.
Caller currently on hold while i write this ReviewCaller tells me to direct the call to a co-worker- i respond by asking who is calling- she gives me a name i cant understand (lots of noise in background and a thick accent) i ask her to repeat the company name and she does- its "it weekly"i ask what the call is regarding and her reply was "internet service provider" so i asked "ok- what about it??" she paused and asked me again to direct her call to the co worker she had asked for...so i explained that i needed to know what the call was regarding and she again stated- its regarding "internet service provider" so i replied "ok- but what about it?" and she didnt seem to understand my questions. i put her on hold until she hung up
I have probably had over 50 calls (maybe more!) from these people (all whom have accents), from this number and others, all asking for a particular person by name who isn't even in this office! She's in another of our offices. I ask them what they want and they mention some document and IT... they ask for office manager. I tell them to take this number off their call list, but they still call. I wish there was someplace we can complain. If I get calls now that ask for this person, I just hang up. It's very annoying and distracting.
Got call saying they were part of GlobalEdge Technologies. She wanted to send me white-paper on a new "VOIP" system, however she couldn't even tell me what VOIP stood for. I told her we were happy with our phone system and hungup. Scam
Called 4 times in the past 24 hours, from a noisy call center. Caller with Indian accent and American first name asking to confirm my contact info and send me whitepaper about some technology product. I suspect it's the same people who call from a variety of spoofed numbers, pretending to represent various tech companies. Actually some marketing firm in India probably in the business of compiling lead lists. I've told them repeatedly to stop calling this number, they just keep doing it.
Annoying 5 calls a day have on Autoblock but still phone rings ar least once and is annoying
It's Tech Global Edge. Seriously, these caller are super annoying. I have no idea how they do business with caller who can't speak English and are super annoying at the same time. It's so easy to tell it's a freaking call center because a person can hear it loud and clear in the background.
