BTW whenever you get a call from someone that wants to "update their data base" they may be one of these companies trying to get the names of the upper management so they can call the next day and get through to them. I tell them I do not verify any info over the phone. They may send us a questionnaire in the mail and at our discretion we will provide the info they seek. Beware of Harte Hanks because they are data miners and will sell your info to companies like Institute of Business and Progressive Business Publications.

Cynthia Thomas of ICR has been calling one of my CSR's for several weeks threatening legal action if payment is not received. She of course has my CSR's birthdate as confirmation. Since I handle all purchases for my company the CSR gave the number to me. I'm glad I decided to google her number before calling her. This site has confirmed my suspicions.

I have received the same call and when i demanded to have an invoice to look at and additional information on the company i supposedly made the purchase they refused. they continue to call and harass - DO NOT GIVE MONEY!

My boss got on the phone and said that she did not place the order, she was told that they have a recording of her requesting the publication. My boss asked for either a copy of the recording or a transcript of the call. Cynthia Thomas the "Supervisor" said that she would just clear the account as it would cost her more to get a transcript of the call then she would collect. We will wait and see if they call again.

Received a call from Cynthia, Cynthia I hope your reading this...How can someone call and harass a legitimate place of business for money. Do you honestly think your making a living doing this type of work...Do you look at yourself in the mirror and think I'm successful or most likely you think of yourself as a failure....I would guess a failure. I guess it beats flipping burgers...because in your mind you have an "Office Job" Wow...beware others out there being scammed!

I think we figured out how to get them to stop calling!!!!When "Valerie" did not get anywhere with me today her "Supervisor" called, Cynthia Thomas. My boss was final in the office to take the call as she was the one who "placed the order". Cynthia told my boss they had a recording of her requesting the publication. My boss was given her birth date as proof. She said "That is not good enough, I would like a copy of the recording of the call or a transcript of the call". When my boss asked for that Cynthia said she would just clear the account because it would cost her more to get the copies then she would collect! And then hung up on my boss. If they call you again try this! My boss was also told that there was an email agreeing to the order and she asked for a copy of it also, would not give email address, should have if email from her. Hope you can use the same tack and get them to stop calling you!!!

I also got an invoice to pay $299.00 for something I never ordered. My story is exactly the same as other people's story.

i have a Valerie Oliver calling me stating that i signed up for progressigve subscription and demanded i pay $230. Very rude and will not quit calling and it is a SCAM

they did the same thing with my business, how do I file a comlaint with NY state Attorny General? Thanks.Bobby
