Calling for our copier info as they are getting ready to send out a new manual. Woo-hoo!!! I told him the numbers were "SCAM" it took him a few minutes to realize what it spelled. Wonder how he got that job!!!!
Definitely a scam. I got a call from this number last night. He started off introducing himself (thick Asian accent) from Southwest Airlines and that they were opening some kind of new business in my neigboring city (he said Temecula, which is California, though it was the same Jersey number as your call). He went on and on, then he ended up saying something about Enterprise. At that point I was confused. I could hear the other callers from their call center in the background. They sounded very busy. Anyway, as he went on and on, he said something about us being able to choose from several airlines and I was totally confused what this was suppose to be about and who this guy was. He started off by saying he was with Southwest, and I have an account with Southwest. But I don’t think Southwest would offer a program where I ‘chose from many airlines’. It was Sunday night just before 7pm. When I first answered I almost chewed the person out for bothering me on my cell on a Sunday night with a business call. I should have gone with that first instinct.
Called cell - if said Atlantic City - left no message -- i called back, recording said 'you've reached our customer care management platform' , press 1 to speak with a cust care rep , 2 to be removed from calling list, 3 to leave a message and 4 to hear about regulatory agencies that govern our industry'Dialed 1 and it hung up-called back & then - dialed 3 to leave a message- hung up -- dialed 4 and it hung up-- dialed 2 and a recorded male voice - sounded east asian -- said you will be cakled no longer ----OBVIOUS SCAM/THIEVES OR TELEMARKETIN BOGU OUT FIT - BLOCKED!
This one is REALLY FUNNY. Thanks. Love your approach - “no computer. Evil”.Guys are still in business.
Got another call from the 609 Atlantic City number on my cell - answered. Guy with heavy accent said he was calling regarding assisting me with my computer. Said name of his company was Sourcewide Tech Solutions LLC -and gave me the web address www.sourcewidellc.com -- Figured I'd have some fun, since I had some time, and see what all he'd tell me about his operation.I asked where they were located and he said Arvada Colorado. Asked why a 609 area code was showing up and he didn't respond. Said that they would fix my computer, clear of viruses, etc and I could give him access and could watch what he was doing. Asked what it would cost, and he said 'it depends on what we find'. Asked what was the normal charge or usual one -- he thought for aminute and said $99, but today, maybe he could give a discount. Asked how he got my name and cell phone number and he said "from our records".... Asked, what records..... and he stumbled and said 'our company records' and we just had your number to contact..... Sheeeezzzz.Asked how you paid, and he said they took credit cards (oh, I'll bet they do ! ), and they are also listed on the website. Told him I was busy at the moment and couldn't do it right now, and I asked his name ---"Michael" -- (yeah, right, and my name when I call East Asia is Shehzad ).....so, I'm not sure if this company is legit, or if they just run an off shore website to look legit and then burn people when they give them their credit card, but they won't be getting credit card info from me.... so B E W A R E -- their toll free number that he gave me to call back is 800-291-7856 and the number he called me from was 609-225-5799 I suspect that it is one of the many off shore SCAMS that are out there.
Any time anyone mentions computer viruses it's a scam from India. There are hundreds of hilarious videos of people scamming the scammers. One guy in particular has a YouTube channel called "I Reck Scammers IRS".
I got a call from this # a few minutes ago, also wanting to 'fix' my computer! I asked "Do you get many people who are stupid enough to fall for this crap?" to which I must have offended him, because he got defensive and told me it's NOT crap, they are doing me a FAVOR because my computer is infected with a serious virus and needs to be taken care of. I asked how he knows my computer has a virus & he said....."We just got a message sent from your computer!" Seriously? I mean, does ANYONE fall for that? (obviously, I guess some do or these idiots wouldnt still be in business.) So apparently my computer has sent some kind of 'distress' signal, and this guy is my knight in shining armor! Lucky me. Still wanting to pull his string, I said 'This is the thing...I don't have a computer. They are the window for evil to enter through, and I'm not going to allow one in my house.' LMAO I guess his script didnt have a response for this, as he stammered about for a minute and then hung up!
