I do not know who this is and no message is left.

I just got a call yesterday from this number and again today from another number. I inquired directly with verizon at 611 and they said it likely was NOT someone from Financial services. I asked why the call would be from a local number if it was. They said that it would be from an 800 or 866xxxx number of some kind. And they didn't have a record or note of someone contacting me yesterday. I did speak with someone briefly but quickly challenged the call since I had just made a significant payment and told them I was annoyed by the call. They didn't push it and just said ok and that the payment still somehow didn't avoid my acct from going to collections. They did not ask for ss# or anything though. I'm still not convinced either way on this. But want to report it in case old people or people not thinking quick enough fall for it. Best thing to do is don't give info and tell them you will call Verizon back to deal with it. Use 611 obviously.

hello totally agree this is a SCAM and this numbers as well 551-226-5391 will call and leave you a message saying they are verizon and there was a change to the account [***] please dont call back on that number because they will ask you for your zip code when in fact the real verizon wireless will have all your info its a total scam well if you call the actual verizon wireless number they will tell you that there isnt any changes to ur account and that it was a scam well later on they will continue on calling you from this types of number " 201-918-4777 , 201-984-9860 " its all [***] and right after of not answering and ignoring them for a whole day they will text you from this weird number "72500" telling you to call them at 1800-688-9286 or to visit their FAKE WEBSITE ON www.vzw. <------not even .COM smfh FAKE FAKE

I have to agree that it can't be a legit Verizon call. I am a Sprint customer and am up to date on payments. Even if I wasn't - my cell is not the main number on the account. I called back from a land line and asked to be removed from the call list. They were polite & said they would remove me... Now let's see if the calls continue.

This is legitimate folks, not a scam. They call when you are behind on your bill. Very simple, you can either pay or promise to pay within 7 days. If you feel you shouldn't be getting calls from them, you should probably contact Verizon directly to see what type of system error is causing you to get the call - at least then you can get the calls to stop. If you are behind on your bill, then don't act surprised or disgusted that they call you - that's what happens when you don't pay bills (not being uppity, I know from first hand experience).

Not verizon. When i miss a payment, as i often do. I get a text, then about a week later a call. They always leave a vm, asking to step call them in regard to service within 24 hours. This number calls obnoxiously often, and leaves no message.

Saw someone else report this as a scam -- it's a fairly polished one! They've called 5 times a day and when I finally answered live I told the person I'd been informed that this was a scam and asked to talk to a supervisor. She said yes, put me on hold with muzak, and then I was introduced to "Jose". I told Jose my Verizon bill was paid in full, next due date 1/21/14, and that I'd been informed this call was a scam to collect credit card numbers. All of a sudden, the line went dead.

Right and how long have you been working for them? TOTAL SCAM!

I paid my bill online. Then just to be sure I went back and call this number again. They had already made note of the payment that I made. They are a Verizon agent and a directly connected in to their system even though they are an independent agency. This is not a scam.
