They have called me 3 times and i called AMEX and they had no record of this number. They also checked to see if anyone had called me and no record of that either. I think they want your credit card number which AMEX would never ask for. This is a scam do not give any information to them. When i talked to them they said they could not look up any information which would be a lie. If it was AMEX they could pull up any of the information i asked for.I called this number back and they said they were AMEX but could not help me without a account number.

I got an automated message on my voicemail telling them to call back a 1-800 number for an important business matter with American express. I do have an American express card. I was weary about it, so instead of calling back that number, I called the number on the back of my card. It was legit, there was an issue with my last payment.

This is an American Express number. I don't have an AmEx card and am not the person they are trying to reach, but I called the 800-number on the AmEx website and spoke with a representative. They promised to remove my number from their database. They call three times each day, so we'll see.

They asked for my husband and I said he was not avilale so they hung up. Looked up the number and saw all these comments so I called the number back. Said to enter my amex # in. I hung up. Just happened to talk to Amex today about an unrelated matter and don't have a problem with my account.

The operator had a British accent, I'm guessing an Indian call center.

got a message on the answering machine saying I needed to call AMEX at 1-800-824-9289 regarding suspicious charges on my AMEX card. BUT I HAVE NO AMEX CARD!When I called, they said they must have made a mistake and to disregard the call.

So it's bogus? They keep calling my cell phone which isn't even listed on my Amex account. Is there anywhere to call to report it?

Got a message from this number claiming to be from AMEX. I called the number on the back of my card and spoke to an actual AMEX rep and they said that the number was not from AMEX and not to call them or give them any info.

He apologized for calling & haven't called since. Every time you call your credit card company, you're required to enter your card #, that's how they pull up your account information, but if it's suspicious then don't.
