We also think a scam. Who calls at 10:00 on a staurday night? They called my 80 year old father to say something was wrong with my credit. And then they left no way for me to follow up. All after I've been a victim of identity theft
Really? Then why would they call my father's cell number and not mine? And when they spoke with my father why didn't they give a way for me to follow up? I spoke with my people at LegalShield and they said scam. It really is a scam!
This number called my cell phone and hung up after just a couple of seconds. Then, immediately, my work phone rang and showed the same number. It rang once and they hung up. (I didn't answer either call.) I looked online and found some people saying it was from USBank, so I called the number on the back of my card. They said that number is not one of theirs (though the area code is from Fargo, ND, which is where USBank headquarters is located) and he could find no record of USBank calling me or any reason why they would have called me. He advised me that it most likely is fraudulent call and if they call again not to give them any information. He said if USBank calls you, they will know your information (account number, last 4 of your social, etc.) He is pursuing it with their fraud department.
Got a call from the #, they did not leave a Voicemail. Called US bank to see if there was fraud on my account, they advised there was not.
This was a valid call from US Bank responding to an email I had sent them concerning my card rewards. He left a VOICE MAIL with a direct phone number to call him back. I returned the call and we discussed the issue in detail, and he was able to resolve my issues. Totally legit in my case.
Legitimate US BANK call... That only asked if I was Vince (I am) They called to verify that I opened a new US Bank credit card (I did) and that I did a balance transfer for X amount of dollars (I did). They said thank you and the call was ended. They did not ask me for any personal info. Only my first name.
Not a scam. Just opened a cc with US Bank and requested two balance transfers from Chase. Those transfers had not posted as of yesterday. This # phoned me today to ask if I had requested the two balance transfers. Was kind of reluctant, but realized I had not divulged anything security-related on the phone and said “Yes.” Checked my US Bank account twenty minutes later, and they are now there. Is a fraud prevention service.
USBank left a voice message concerning a research inquiry that I had made the day before and even addressed me by my first name at the start of the message. I, too, was skeptical of the phone entry which displayed "Payment Svcs" but definitely legit.
