Just received a call from this number claiming to be HSBC and to press 1 to talk to their security center. Pressed one. Press 1 to reactivate your card. Pressed one. Please enter your card number followed by the pound sign. Yea, no. Hung up.
Called in the middle of the night. 12:30 am!!! Woke my house up and scared us as I thought it was a family member at the ER cuz no one else would call at that time unless it was an emergency! Called the number back and the recording says Thank you for calling back, if you would like to be removed from our preferred marketing list press one. It can take up to 72 hours to be removed. I pressed 1 let's see what happens!
Got the same call from the same 701 number at 4:26 AM!!! They said my Master Card debit account was locked. Trying to get you while you are half asleep. Not so fast, Scammer!
YEAH THEYRE SENDING TEXTS NOW. GOT A TEXT ABOUT OUR WASHINGTON MUTUAL CARD HAVING A HOLD ON IT.... LIKE THE BANK WOULDNT NOTIFY ME FIRST? WE'RE A BUSINESS AND THEY SENT IT TO THE WALKIE TALKIE I USE FOR THE SHUTTLE. MUST BE GETTING DESPERATE.
What is wrong here. Let's all notify the police and phone company. This number also traces to UPS package tracking. Maybe we have all used UPS at one time or another? Let's get this scammer.
Just got a call from this number on my cell phone, phishing about mastercard. It's an auto dialer because we got another call a minute later on the next sequential number.
same call. credit card locked. really bad recording. didn't press number but called them back and the recording said "thanks for calling back, to have your name taken off our list, press 1" I did. hope it wasn't a huge mistake....last time i tried to complain to gvt about an sms text, it resulted in nothing. don't think there is a complaint department there anymore.
Same thing, said my mastercard was deactivated due to security concerns and to press 1 to reactivate. They intentionally garbled the company name too so you can't understand it. Sounds like "Hello, this is an official call from e...b..t...card your mastercard has been deactivated due to security concerns, please press 1 to reactivate it."This message was left on my voicemail... so yeah, obviously a scam, legit companies (especially ones as large as banks/cc companies) have software that changes the automatic message if a voicemail picks up.
