Whenever I try logging into my MSN email account from a new computer, this number calls with a 6 or 7-digit verification code that allows me to login. So at least in some cases it is not a scam.
microsoft outlook email address verification by phone... not sure if that number is used for other reasons but in my case I do know this for sure
This is a verification call; I added my home phone number to my profile on LinkedIn and they called with a verification code that I had to enter online before they would add the phone number to my profile. Same thing for my cell number, except they texted that code to me. So it's legit. Conversely, if you get a call from this number and you HAVEN'T changed anything, that says that someone has either (a) made a typo or (b) is trying to take control of one of your accounts.
Same here! Caller was an automated system leaving me a code. No other ID or info.Some have posted this is from Microsoft, some from AOL, some post that it is from Verizon. We have none of these except a Microsoft windows system. Would say if it is this vague and no other info...BLOCK them! Must be a scam!
Correct.. It's the phone number that does call back-confirmation calls for AirBnB for instance..
