They just called me at 6:34 am. I never requested any changes. Its Aggravating to say the least.
Got a call around 11: 35 p.m. with a verification code from Yahoo. Got another call a few minutes later. I haven't asked for any verification. Completely out of the blue.
I recieved a today from this number. It is NOT legit. I checked several sites and read all the comments. Then I called Mirosoft, no they did not send this call. No one requested any info from, nor do you need a verifcation code/pin number for use. My phone is not accwith any Google accounts.I do not use Hot Mail, Yahhoo Mail, or any public email accounts, so there is no reason for verification of a phone number. I do not use this number for ANY outside accounts, billings, or computer accounts. It is an emergency contact number for FAMILY only. Only 4 people have it. I have a separate number for all other uses. No utilities, bank acconuts, ect. are given this number. I called and reported this to the Attorney Generals Office in my state, they confirmed that this is a scam and have several complaints. They are investigating and are working toward getting this scam shut down. The number shows it is from California, but it is actually originating from outside the United States.
They keep texting and calling me in the middle of the night, and they can call or text up to 10 times a day in the past 3 months! I never ask "We Chat" or who ever is behind that to text me a chat code.
I had forgotten about having to reset my password until I read about Microsoft here. I did request a password change and you do receive a verification code via phone call by automated system in order to do so. This was a legitimate call from Microsoft. My call came very late at night, but that is exactly when I requested my password reset. No problem here.
