Another phishing scam call based on the "reduce your interest on your credit card account"BS approach.
I never answer it. I know what the number is from my caller ID. They wake me up and that makes me mad.
This number continually calls my home phone. I answer it to tell the caller to stop calling me and no one answers. What the hell is this?
I keep getting calls from this company even after I press the #3 to have my number removed. The last time I tried talking to the live person and they hung up on me before I coul finish telling them to stop calling my number. I tried calling back the number that showed in the callerID, but thenumber does not receive calls.
I hardly ever have a repeat call from calls like this. You have a couple of choices.1. If you don't know the number don't answer it. Shut off your ringer(s) if you want to slee.2. When the person starts their pitch, say," Wait let me give you to the person who handles those decisions and give the phone to a child under the age of 6 who will talk their ear off. (I did this to several phone companies in the 90's when my kids were little-worked every time)3. In the middle of their pitch start talking about something that has nothing to do with anything they are talking about and then take it up a notch by starting to sound mentally ill, raising your voice in agitation but not screaming, they get spooked and don't call back. (I do this fairly often-it's quite amusing when they start to studder and don't know what to say)4. If you don't know the number and have a fax number hooked up to that line start the fax machine, they will realize its a fax and not call back.5. Can of compressed air horn-like the ones used at sporting events. Ask nicely to be removed from their calling list, say you appreciate their time and understand they are trying to make a living but you honestly aren't interested. Wish them a good day and just hang up. The next time they call, let them start so you know its the same people and then hold the phone away from you and set the air horn off in their ear. They won't call back...promise.Now smile and have a nice day.
They have EVERYTHING they need to STEAL YOUR IDENTITY? Why in the world did you give them all of that information? You need to IMMEDIATELY file a police report AND contact your credit card company to cancel your card AND contact the credit reporting agencies to place a fraud alert on your file so that they cannot open any new cards or lines of credit in your name. There's probably more that you should be doing. Research it NOW. Call everyone NOW. Your "sterling credit" is about to be ruined.
