Caller is connected to, or has information from, a credit card company, trying to get information about changing the interest rate on a credit card in my name. I have had many calls of this nature and have indicated to the caller that I do not wish to be contacted again.This is only one of several phone numbers that are used by the same outfit, or outfits, in this manner. Another number used very recently for the same purpose is 305-304-9999. It's funny that most of the phone numbers used by these people end in 9999.

I have a very simple solution which has helped with these types of calls.My voicemail is set to Spanish. People who know me thinks it's funny (since I know salsa and taco and that's about it of Spanish) and leave me a message, the telemarkers call once and leave me alone.

How can we stop these annoying calls?

nothing u can u, nothing stop them they just change the number that comes up on your caller id.i file all calls i get to the ftc. this year 212 calls last year 154. NOTHING STOPS THEM. They leave a message on the answer machine like you can press the number when you aren't there. Same message number phone numbers and different number to press. That doesn't work either. They hang up if you question them

I have the same problem. My Panasonic wireless phone can block only 30 numbers by using caller ID. Some Uniden models will block 50. I may go for a Uniden with this feature. Another alternative I have is to buy a limitless blocking utility for my landline service from AT&T that costs $7.50 per month.

Call from this number Nov 15 at 4:36 pm. I never pick up when I don't recognize the number. Left message saying I could reduce my credit rate. I too have the Panasonic phone that can block numbers but sometimes these callers call from different numbers. No matter, if Caller ID shows "Unavailable" or "Out of Area" or a number I don't recognize, I just don't pick up.
