Got a call from this number at 8:45 people. The guy calling got irritated when I asked who they were. He said he was with "Issues and surveys". I asked if they were really calling me at almost 9pm, and he gave a snarky "Yes, sir!" I said: "There's probably a better time to call, don't you think?", and again gave a snarky "have a good night" and hung up. Definitely a bs call.
This number is for a legitimate market research company. They work with numerous companies as well as political candidates. It is not telemarketing, so the Do Not Call List does not apply. They do not "data mine" and sell the information to other companies.
It is a robo call. The computer just calls one no after another. They have called my house 5 times today. We just no longer answer our land line. If it is someone I know, they will leave a message.
We are a market research firm. That is what Issues and Answers is... our headquarters is in Virginia Beach, VA, and we have many centers. We don't call for personal information. All we do, as our job, is we call people and conduct surveys, polls, and studies with people all over the country. We don't force people into doing anything their not interesting in doing. And clients hire us to conduct the studies because we don't bias any survey, poll, or study. We do it to gain awareness of education, income, poverty, health, political views, etc.. And we don't solicit so that is why we don't have a Do Not Call List since we don't sell anything on the phone. And when it comes to personal information all we ask is age, education level, political view, race, ethnicity, and confirm who we're talking to and confirm their number. Here's our website- www.issans.com.
No, if you said you were a Republican in the survey, it puts us into the Republican poll but if you say you're a Democrat it puts you into the Democratic poll. That way when we call to do political surveys with random nobodies. We're only doing it for the paycheck, we could care less who you or who you don't vote for.
Just because you aren't selling anything doesn't mean you can't have an internal Do Not Call list. The national DNC is for telemarketers but non-telemarketing companies can have their own DNC list so they don't get yelled at or hung up on when they call people who don't want to talk to them. In this day and age of phone scams, it's the wise thing to do.
I suggest that you do a more thorough research of the Do Not Call List. Our HQ is Virginia Beach and office hours are 830-5 but that's the headquarters. We don't start calling out all over the country until 5pm to 12am depending on time zone. If you're east coast we call until 9:30pm, central is 10:30pm, mountain is 11:30pm and western is 12:30am... if you're in the Alaska/Hawaii area we call out until 2:30am eastern time. Call between 8:30am and 5pm to speak to public relations at the HQ. The call centers are in MI, ID, NY and VA. We're simply market research. Also, if you would do the survey and not spend 10 minutes blasting us with such hate we wouldn't call you anymore since our systems randomly regenerate phone numbers.
