they will NOT stop calling! I just had 4 calls in the last four minutes! I don't care if it is a legitimate company....if someone doesn't answer the phone after 2 weeks and after calling 10x in an hour, remove the number!!And PS: I dont go anywhere, which means I never filled out anything!
I received the call saying I "won" and it will only cost me $75. to commit to a date I'd already said I couldn't do. I had filled out a ticket at McDonald's to win a free vacation but sure wish I could get a hold of the person responsible for allowing this sort of scam to be put in a McDonald's. I am persistent and do intend to pursue this.
Oh, I love it!! I had an uncle that when telemarketers would call, and if he had some extra time to play with them, would shout to his wife, "Honey, sounds like we won something!" He would continually ask what they won, acting like a real hokum guy, lol. The telemarketer would hang up quickly!
I filled out a form at an expo because I was waiting in line and the prize sounded nice. They called and wanted to speak with me and someone else. When I was unable to produce a second person and told them I declined, they hung up. They never even got to the part about me giving them a deposit and I thought it was done.A couple months later, they have started calling me again. Same pitch, I "won" a "prize" and the offer ends today. This may or may not be legitimate, but I am completely uninterested. Given the attitude I have been given when I answer and explain my lack of interest, these callers are just trying to fill a quota for number of calls made.
I signed up for something at a MarketPro computer show. I did it because the guy was very persistent while I was waiting in the line to pay for entrance and I wanted to shut him up. I gave a cell phone number that I only use for outgoing calls, don't accept any incoming, lol
I've been getting calls from this number almost every evening starting around 5:30 and going on until at least 10:00 or later for the last 10 days. I've had at least 8 calls in the last 90 minutes, some with only 5 minutes between calls. They refuse to stop calling no matter what they are told. I, too, am on the Do Not Call list. Next step is a complaint with the FCC.
About 2 months ago, my wife and mom-in-law filled out a form at a "home and garden" show for what they took to be a "drawing" for a free getaway. We have now rec'd a similar call and offer as recorded on this site several times from the same phone #. Indeed they ultimately said we would have to offer a charge card for the $75 reservation fee that would be refunded along with $125 once we arrived at Massan'ten Resort. Even if this is NOT a scam, they have a very flawed operation in this day and age to think that anyone would give them a charge card in a situation like this EVEN if we DID fill out a form at a Garden and Home Show. Since they called us--there's no way anyone should give out a charge card #. That has to be a cardinal rule. They were pushy and said we would have to act on that call to make this work. There's no chance to think about it, call them back, or further explore the offer, nor to carefully consider "when" in the next 6 weeks we could accept the offer as we, like many, lead very busy lives. How do readers here know that the writers who post positive things here aren't merely the scammers coming online and covering themselves? We would rarely fill out such an entry, but in this case, we were partly entertaining some extended family while some other members of the family were very engaged elsewhere at this particular show. I don't think we "won" a drawing, but instead I imagine anyone who filled out the form, gets the call.My wife and I both got on the phone at the caller's request to hear their pitch. We were from the start dubious. When I explained that there's no way we could give them a charge card in a nice and innocent way since as far as we knew they could be "crooks," the caller got a little defensive pointing out that we filled out the form. The caller quickly moved us off once she saw we were not going to deal.I am curious if this is legit...but am flumoxed by it. If it is truly legit, then why doesn't the offeror work out some other arrangement for the $75? I suppose the offeror might want the "winner" to have some vested interest to show-up...I can see that--BUT they have got to produce some way for the "winner" to feel comfortable and confident that they are giving a charge card indeed to the resort and not to a con artist. That might could be achieved, but I suppose if you give the winner much leeway, then they may punt the whole thing and not show up. Of course, if this is legit and one does show up, I don't know how high-pressure the sales pitch might be...I've been lucky and blessed in life and a few free days at a Va mtn resort or even at Disney World is not a big deal to me, so this group would have a hard time ever gaining my confidence.Good luck to all!
mary says i filled out a form at applebees and.... i hang up because i have not been to applebees in at least a year! i would like to know how they got my cell #
Constant phone calls from this company ~ 40+ in 2 weeks! First call was a message just like above person mentioned ~ that I won a $125.00 visa card and a bunch of other prizes. She told me that she would be calling in a hour. I spoke with her briefly and asked her to take my number off their calling list. They keep calling. Total Scam.
